And I'd like the option to hide it. That way you can "Express yourself" all you want, but people who want a more final fantasy/serious experience don't have to look at ridiculous characters that don't make any sense.

Zidane might not have saved the world in a string bikini but Kuja destroyed one in a cod piece and cut off top. Also Squall might be full clothed but Ultimicia's cleavage goes down to her you know what.

That's a bit of a deceptive argument, no? Some of the more controversial/unrealistic glamour has been added over time and wasn't in the game at launch. It's also possible to enjoy the game itself but desire the tools required to make it that much more enjoyable on a personal level. Something which the development team have been doing if we take features such as 'easy mode' for solo duties into account.

FF9's Kuja literally has his thong on show for the entirety of the game. The flame elite's loincloth looks strikingly similar to the lower half of his outfit. It is a piece I use in a few of my glams as I like similar aesthetics to Kuja. So as you can see, it does not always break the theme and feel of FF..

Cause there are people that mix armor because they dont currently or dont care to wear a complete set of armor. So now you will have people wearing mixed colors and all sorts of different cloths and armor pieces of various sizes.

Addressed quite a few times.. but I don't blame you for not wading back through all that to find out.

if you're going to bother to remove glamours, it's not a huge difference to just replace them with a "standard" glamour for your job. It was floated a bit that people should have current AF for their level range or just a base set that was iconic for BLM or WAR or whatever. It's just a matter of eliminating the "custom" reference you get from peoples glamours and referencing a "standard" glamour client side instead. People have also expressed distress that this "standard" may be overly revealing or risque, so it'd have to be reasonably PG as well.

I know, strictly forbidden in this game.

Correction, it is forbidden to modify game files or the client. There is no mention of players wishes.

There's no reasonable position to expect they would suddenly sanction such a change. Should also consider that most people cultivate an image that is largely centered on how others perceive them, rather than self perception, and thus it matters quite a bit for someone else to supercede that image.

It has been argued, exhaustively, who's preferences matter more: the player who has payed for access and their want to experience the game on their own hardware as desired, or the players expression who needs people to see them a certain way to have value. Both sides have valid arguments. Personally I feel if your enjoyment of a game hinges directly on whether some random out there HAS to see you a certain way... you might be expecting a bit much from an online interaction.

And if people know without a doubt that all that effort is for nothing, you can kiss the glamour market goodbye. Why bother spending gil to get the latest look, or grind for the materials to craft it? Why purchase mogstation outfits?

Because not EVERYONE buys glamours to be the center of attention and the grandest tiger at the ball. Many MANY people buy them because they like the way they look and the fact their character looks a certain way ON THEIR SCREEN, is enough. The expectation that everyone is dressing/looking the way they do for the public eye creates problems in the real world as well. People don't necessarily wear makeup or dress a certain way to please others, many do it because it pleases them.

Ultimately that's just a few of the many reasons it won't happen. And for all the opposition's talk of compromise, they've overlooked the simplest one of all: "get over it".

The reason for Glamor is for people to express themselves seriosuly you want to take away peoples creativity not to mention all this information is grabbed from the server it isnt saved on your computer
