For the crafting job quests, I usually wait until I outlevel them by 10 or so, unless the cear I have for that craft happens to be better than usual or well melded.
At least now, I can do my own overmelding on gear up to 70, so it's become easier. I still can't get 100% HQ for many crafting quests though.
Sounds like if someone is not going to do savage raids, then why is he bothered to playing the game? Isn't that a bit extreme?
Yes I know, but I prefer play the game rather than let someone else play it for me, so it is not an option for me. And some items makes me go bankrupt if I purchase them on board!
That quests, I'd just like be able do them without going insane in the process. As example, when I was asked to get a HQ fish that I can get by mooching another HQ fish, and both of them seems had very, very low chances of get those fishes at my level/skill, made me very frustrated and did let me not touching crafting for weeks.
Standing hours in a spot for a job quest feels more to me as doing the ultimate raid of crafting rather than a job quest. Sure, I cannot ask everything handled to me on sight, but imho 10-15 minutes of effort are more than enough for a job quest. Endgame is another beast, sure, you there have to put all the effort, but right now I'm just a newbie leveling a job.
If I have to reach level 70 on a job in order to do its level 40 job quest, or standing still an hour (and maybe not enough) for a fish job quest, to me it is the concept itself of "job quest" a bit amiss.
And I mentioned fishing because the fishing log doesn't help me when I have to get a fish (even if I had already got that in my fishing log): I have to resort to external sites to get the info (locations, bait to use, special conditions).
I'd expected I can type the fish name and then see the places where I got it/where I can find it.
Crafter log does that, after all. It even goes ahead and let me see even things I never crafted.
Sorry for the venting.
Fishing has always catered to a much more old-school style of gamer. Forget crafting - even other gathering jobs aren't nearly as obtuse. And I mentioned fishing because the fishing log doesn't help me when I have to get a fish (even if I had already got that in my fishing log): I have to resort to external sites to get the info (locations, bait to use, special conditions).

Fishing is for players who either live for puzzling out impossibly obscure details on their own, or are fine with looking up info online, just as with FFXI and other MMOs of yesteryear.
And, for the most part, fishing isn't needed. Every now and then, SE tosses them a bone and makes some fish or other important, but for the most part there are decent alternatives to anything that uses a fish. It's there for the completionists, and for folks who genuinely like the low-key mysteries fishing provides. Tossing the line for hours on end, just to see what bites...
Fishing is the most boring and useless class in the game. Its the embodiment of why rng sucks and does not make anything difficult. No all rng does is make things a time consuming frustration filled headache, I stopped leveling fish around level 40 have not touched it agian since. SE could honestly remove Fishing and no one would really notice because of how useless and boring it is.
Note: Taking advice from a players alt, is like taking advice from a voice in a dark room. Criticism is a two way street remember that!!

Consolidating traits would be about as worthwhile as burning currency. Pointless --- for what? for your ocdness? That's the only thing it would help because its literally in a window you don't even have to look at.....wasted resources@Nomuno
And moving slow like a turtle when you go into hide, 5.1 removes this,
12 plus freed up trait slots that in theory could be used then for something better to make gatheres more fun, entertaining and featurewise more interesting, than to waste so much potential with something stupid like hiding from enemies/monster
You don't watch many live letters either otherwise you would know about the sneak changes coming (its gonna be called Sneak now, useable while mounted, and doesn't slow you down)
I dont see it that way at all.
They made some interesting decisions, but a lot of the removed actions havent been relevant.
CZ is also going to be noticed, but I dont think its going to be that bad. Worst case, we have to make up for 14-22 CP at best somewhere, and I think MuMe and Inno changes do that.
Piece By Piece used to be good, but since it was capped at 1k, it stopped being useful.
Rumination hasnt been used for a couple expansions, and I dont think ive ever cross classed it since i had to cut something.
Ingen and Ingen 2 look like they're turning into Ingen2, and is a wash.
MaMa has been dead for a while, New MuMe is just so much better.
They did exactly what I figured they would with steady hand, except hasty touch is now even worse than it was before.
Removing the higher normal touches only impacts lower end crafters. Every touch that isnt Prudent, Prep or DelSynth is already dead.
Manip 1 and Masters Mend 1 are now the same thing (technically current Manip 1 is slightly better), so killing manip 1 and Mend 2 (who ever uses that?) makes sense.
MuMe actually has a reason to exist (I have to match it better but your opener is now most likely MuMe IQ Inno Delicate ... Manip) and moving IQ/Inno to different effects is good, and you'll probably see inno worked into every rotation.
Final Appraisal is actually probably okay in places you cant Trained Eye to 100%. Its going to let you 'end' with a delicate and have a chance to reclaim.
Trained eye change is FANTASTIC. FAN. TAS. TIC.
Careful Observation: I have no idea unless it costs 0, and then is only going to be "good" with ObsFoc, which are a LOT less good now that CZ isnt around, and it keeps its same non-synergy with Inno, which is probably going to be somewhere we get CP savings. I guess it can turn scrips into CP if you fish for Tricks, but I have problems with that.
Seem to have missed that in the chunk of "success increased to 100%, CP cost +1/5 of SH2" actions!Careful Synth III is still there and seems to be completely unchanged outside of having its name changed to reflect the fact there is no I or II anymore. Careful Synth II is now just Basic Synthesis with the level 31 Trait. 120% efficiency 100% accuracy. Same as CSII was before. Careful Synth is just gone because Basic Synth is now 100% accuracy and 10% better efficiency anyways.
