There are guides that literally tell you how to conduct the entire run/fight, down to the smallest detail. I, personally, don't care for those kinds of guides. My main reason for going to guides for information is to know which mechanics can be problematic and how to pass said mechanics.

Take, for example, Sunken Temple of Qarn (normal). The doom mechanic is nice to know about in advance.

Which just takes 5 seconds to type to inform the healer if they were new.

I was speaking from my own perspective, back when I was new to that dungeon. What if I go into a dungeon and nobody bothers to explain it to me? I tend to be rather quiet, so I'm probably not going to ask the party for an explanation.

Honestly, it's just more reliable for me to Google it. That's how I choose to conduct myself. In no way do I expect you to feel the same way.

It'd probably take less time to say "anything I need to know?" and probably get a response but you do you.

To be fair, if you are quiet and say nothing despite not knowing how to do a mechanic, how are people supposed to know to help you?

I mean, it wouldn’t take you hardly any time to explain a core mechanic in a place like a dungeon—take Qarn’s first boss as an example.

“Anything I need to watch out for?”
“When you get Doom, step on the glowing platform. It changes every few seconds, so just watch out for that.”
“Oh, and kill the Wespe adds that spawn.”

    That’s not hard to do.

Telling someone to watch a guide for a piece of 4-man content is extremely unhelpful and just avoiding the question—which some do consider to be quite rude. Mentor or no, that doesn’t mean that you are excused from not helping if someone actually bothers to ask. Personally, I’m thrilled when someone speaks up and asks if they need to know something. So many players would much rather run in blind and blame the healers for failing to save them from mechanics they repeatedly screw up over asking “Hey, is there anything major I should watch out for?”.

I'm not entirely sure why everybody is nitpicking the things that I'm saying. I'm not telling anybody to look at guides, nor am I telling people to explain mechanics. I was simply relaying my experiences. I feel a 'peace of mind' feeling by memorizing the mechanics before I even enter the dungeon. I'll gladly take 10 or 15 minutes before my queue to read up if it means a smoother run without burdening the party.

If people want to argue with me about that, then I don't know what to tell them....

Why the healer specifically? In this dungeon, unlike other dooms, you stand on the glowing platform to remove the doom.

My bad, I was thinking of Wanderer's Place hard, where the doom needs to be fully healed to be removed.

Would have helped me last night. I generally skim a guide prior to going into a dungeon for the first time...skimmed right over that part when I looked up Qarn. A big thank you to those that put up with me on that one, and for helping me understand the rest as well. Finished the rest of the dungeon with no issues.
