Gender locked race?

At this point I will be stunned if Hrothgar and Dancer are not shown.

On a related note, I asked a WoW veteran friend if Blizzard has ever separated gender reveals on different events and she explained that the female worgen were shown first because the males were not ready to be shown at the time. Though, I feel if male Viera weren't ready to be shown in Paris, Yoshida would have said something. The complete silence on this matter was calculated.

For me it is the omission of the new race's name that has me most skeptical about the leaks by the time the main story is known to include past side stories a new race would at least have a tentative name like Adam and Eve were for Omega M and F so not saying it is suspicious especially when you pair it up with a description of said race. Another thing to add is the new 8 man raid series is still hidden which would be long past conceptual stage at this point, when it comes to leaks the more you say the more chances you have for being credible this leak has very little information and it is both upfront and vague at the same time.

This is a problem I have too. You can argue that they didn’t have the information and suddenly was given a new race dropped on them with only the concept art (also they would be rather behind in development). But even still, that’s just a little weird, the concept art should also include the placeholder name or the real name, not just descriptions.
The only name we can tag the lion-like race with is the one from the French error text, which the dataminers said it’s been in the files since December. I can only assume they picked this name long before it was added into the game.

To be fair, you can still be smart about it even then. Saying "I used to work for SE (where I might've gotten this info) and now I work at--" was the stupid part because like a lot of people said, it really narrows down the options XD A lot of other things they said about themselves weren't favorable as far as their current employer is concerned, either

When I read the "I work here" comment I just imagine the leaker still working at SE and being like.. I hate John, John left to work at Goingtogetrekt Games, I'm going to insult a bunch of people and continue leaking and blame it on John huehue. They'll never catch me now!!! lol.

That said I'm not certain on the discord leaks yet, could be educated guesses and reiterating information in a way that might appear new.

Definitely calculated, adding with the comment that he was contrarian and giving heavy feelings to not wanting to be predictable and have surprises. I feel there is probably some internal talk about trying to balance out new and old and a strong desire to make sure that things do not feel stagnant/predictable. Just a guess though.

Not that guy but the first guy begged not to be asked for more because it would spoil more (+story in another comment) which he didn't want to do... In that they may not have given us more. I imagine if the race is a thing it'll have some key point to the MSQ. That's why I pulled the Kuribu lore book comment that they're made in the vision of otherworld creators and that the kuribu and obviously the winged lion both have lion ties (and are in the shadowbringer trailer). Which is a bit like "nani?" lol.

Just to say that all our info on them could obviously be because it's being misunderstood or stretched but alternatively it could be as two of the three have said about not wanting to reveal MSQ spoilers.

2) Tell us about Crystal Tower having importance this has bigger story spoiler implications than a race name by far

A race name is less spoilery than a race description reason being a name means nothing any real world names used from mythology mean nothing look at Shiva, Bahamut, Odin etc for liberties SE takes when they take such names, so why is this name for this mystery race so taboo it makes me question them more when they are inconsistent.

These Discord 'leaks' are currently in Limbo they got the Hydatos items correct but they could've been good guesses its hard to classify them until fan fest where we get further confirmation of things they have said so i don't dismiss them but i don't accept them either.

The way BluFever stopped was odd we will likely never know why they stopped because i doubt the reason they gave is the true one but i fully accept it as a major leak there is no way that all the information they gave was just guesses, most of what i was saying is directed at the discord 'leaks', i guess i am just bothered by the fact they can give description spoilers but names being taboo baffles me

That's what really bothered me about Hrothgar is that apparently, they were so taboo to bring up? That's what got me, why was every single leaker - that I can recall right now - unwilling to mention the name of the race? What they were willing to mention was the whole lion appearance and the fact they weren't Ronso. It sounded like they were just reading from text descriptions. But that still doesn't explain the lack of the name.

Blufever did seem rather 'off' to me; just in the way they typed. I don't doubt their leaks but they way they backed off and vanished was questionable. Who was going to come after them? No one. The account they were using was a throwaway account; it baffles my head.

The other leaker went and insulted everyone who wanted male Viera and just said 'buff cat' - and then stupidly mentioned where they vanished off to. Making it extremely easy to be tracked down and then sued. And of course the fact they were 'parroting' and added information that was easy to guess. If they told us about Ozma mount or something then I'd have thought 'hmm, this person is legit.'

Either way I'm interested how this goes, the head of the lore is going to be there so I'm sure we'll get a big old explanation based on 'lore' just why the male Viera or female Hrothgar are missing - which will obviously be dismantled unless they make it to the point where the two races 'locked counterparts' can't be retconned at all.

Could this be devs playing their userbase and trolling? Maybe, I can imagine someone doing it - not the one who insulted the community and was a butt, however. Either they're making a bad decision and just testing the waters to see how people react, they don't care and they're just going to go with whatever their vision for the game is - or they're just doing this so the last fanfest is going to be 'amazing'.

They will be competing with ESO due to the release date - ESO went and retconned their lore to have dragons in Elsywer Expansion. Eso is also taking people to the Khajiit homeland - first time seen; or first time looking 'good'. On the more 'business' side of things; if they wanted to add in a big buff cat - I'm going to ask why when a competing MMO is doing the first-time reveal of a homeland of big buff cat race? If you're going to do that then you can't just half-assed the race otherwise they're going to lose to Miqo'te and certainly going to lose to Elder Scrolls lore on 'Buff cats'.

Lol you guys come up with some interesting theories, I'll give you that much. Hopefully Yoshi has a way of going over his decisions whatever they may be but I don't expect him to.

I think it's rather interesting that viera(To my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong) was only shown without any mention or indication of a sub race, I get that they weren't finished but surely if they were going to do sub races how they have been historically done we'd just get a lighter and darker viera with more distinct features between them right?

Perhaps the 'young elezen' looking viera will be some sort of subrace and the hrothgar will get a similar 'young elezen' subrace for themselves.
