Am so sorry for you guys didn't have the male viera : / however this is time to join and fan art should be the best way to protest!

Hrothgar was a pleasant surprise imo most of you do not know but during the 1985-89 there was a very successful animation series called "Thundercats" those who saw the animations would easily become a fan.

So Hrothgar in a way reminds me of those series.

I thought Hrothgar would have more human facial features if the leak were true, so I was really surprise that they went with what they did.

I don't hate it, but I am on the fence. I like their body proportions, but I am curious about how emotive their faces will be. They don't seem too have too much facial movements in the preview, so hopefully they're working on that.

The Vieras and Hrothgar are, I hope, not finished yet. Cause both look quite limited with facial expressions..

The real reason we're not getting male Viera is that the developer has a prejudice against men looking a certain way. I thought they'd have learned by now with giving us male Miqo'te, female Roegadyn, and female Highlanders that people do not like gender locks.

I would've preferred them to look more like Byakko, though I'm happy for those who like how they were designed.

I think their way of handling it is utterly silly, but in the end, they design the game, and then bring it to market. As a work of art, the producers of it will have their preferences on what they put in it and how to present it. They are perfectly entitled to do that, and of course people are perfectly free to reject the product. I don't quite see there being huge demand for Hrothgar in the way they've been added, and monitoring the active figures a few months in will probably be highly revealing.

This is not how designing an AAA game usually works. Choices like this are not driven by artists, but by suits.

But either way, no matter how you justify the decision, the way they handled revealing the information was definitely poor.
