And then you're back to the problem that the cutscene-watching newcomer gets no experience of the actual dungeon beyond empty corridors. The cutscenes and the fights together make up the climax of the story.
Then PF it saying you want a group that doesn't rush it.

Bottom line is, when you have content this old and this easy, people in DF will wanna rush it. If they can't, they just won't run it anymore. These two dungeons are hardly the only things in the DF where this happens; they're just the most cutscene-laden ones.

A lot of stuff about old content goes ignored and unexplained nowadays even when new players are obviously present. That's just the nature of being late to the party in a game like this.

What would have been far more useful and universally acceptable than forcing a restriction upon everyone that does the duty (even if the new players themselves might not have wanted to watch the cutscenes) would have instead been: give the player a notice when Castrum/Prae are unlocked stating that the dungeons are cutscene/storyline intensive (you know, like how the game will later outright warn you to take a piss and get some popcorn when you reach That Scene in 2.55) and that if you want to properly experience the storyline as originally intended, to recommend utilizing the Party Finder (something which the game doesn't advertise and teach about nearly as enough as it should) to find a group of like-minded individuals that will let you do just that.

The "solution" we got sucks, plain and simple. Not even all the new players appreciate it.
