    Pagos just feels like all they cared about was slowing the players down in order to prolong the content. They didn't care about making it fun or interesting, just time consuming. The players found a way to make Anemos as enjoyable as possible, while being social, so they took it away in order to grind away at HP sponges. And your group is in direct competition with others for the small amount of mobs you can actually tackle for the challenge log, so any chatting may mean you don't get as much credit. Ugh.
    Everything I hated about low level Anemos seems to be the core of Pagos. I miss the fun and goofiness of the people on the train.

    You think it is a grind atm? This is some information I have gotten from the Pagos Discord about what is needed to get one ilvl370 relic.

    500 crystals + 31 Frosted? and 2-3 kills on the main boss.

    worst thing are those terrible chains, why only 30, why reset them and not let em on 30 at least, why the timer, we cant even fuckin talk anymore.... basically we are supposed to attack non stop and MAYBE gettin small breaks every 30 mobs... now tell me how to not burn out >_>

    The fate trains are dead because SE has decided to gate every single area. You can't have lowbies in the mid range zones anymore.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Something that annoys me: The light farm.

    That bloody kettle won't kill, no matter how many mobs in my level range i kill i get nothing.

    Only NM's ever give anything, and even then only feeble light.

    Is it just the RNG spitting at me, or am i doing something wrong here?

    idk, i kill one lv 24 demon alone -> light.
    i kill the very same demon alone -> no light.
    i kill a 22 mob -> light. kill the same again even with chain -> no light.
    I kill differnt mobs with different elements -> still no light.

    No, that's just how it works. Only NM will fill the kettle.

    I give up. I played a little bit earlier, barely getting a handful of chain 30's on worms before the parties broke up, and then went back into Anemos after my shouts went unanswered. Did a paz spawn and then logged out of the game.

    I am just not having fun. I don't understand what they thought was going to happen here or how this was going to be sustainable beyond the first week. Without level sync, it's going to get top-heavy extremely fast. It took years for it to happen in XI because of the number of jobs to level and the length of time it took on average to level a job, but here? Hard core people hit 35 in two days. They won't even be able to share their camp knowledge and experience (beyond posting in a google spreadsheet on reddit) with any lower level players because they won't be playing together, and why would they want to anyway? At 35 there is no need to gain any more experience so there's no point to any more chaining. At least in XI if our high level friends came to help they could earn merit points. There's literally nothing here.

    In short, SE clearly has no idea what they are doing anymore. I don't often say things that extreme about individual people - especially people who are working hard to bring us content - but these people literally have no idea what they are doing. They didn't learn lessons from other games, they didn't even learn lessons from THEIR OWN GAMES. ALL of these issues were present in XI and eventually fixed. I am insulted that this is the content they brought us and tainted the name of XI with.

    Congratulations, SE. I'm tapping out too. I can't keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. It's obvious that at this point there are no new ideas and you can't just ignore the past hoping it will be different this time.

    As i see it, Pagos is a clear example of design intentions backfiring horribly:

    Design intention (probably): discourage "NM Trains" and possibly afk-ing
    Method: having NM spawns take longer, giving mobs more HP/damage (?) and increasing their xp (?)

    -> Result 1: players try to only form parties with at most a one level difference, making it difficult and frustrating to find a party.
    (as opposed to the "lfg fate train" -> instant invite in anemos)
    -> Result 2: since players focus on mobs of their level range, only small groups work on any given NM at one time, resulting in even longer spawn times.
    -> Result 3: as mob xp is greatly reduced if other parties pull, cooperation between parties is discouraged
    -> Result 4: long spawn times and the nature of the mob strength results in long stretches of monotonous gameplay (single target combat against regular mobs).
    -> Result 5: IF a NM spawns, most of the players have to run across the map, risking death and loss of xp, as they are scattered in their respective areas.

    In summary: The current state of Pagos makes it harder to form parties, discourages players from working together beyond the regular party size and feels horribly monotonous.

    The worst part: the design decisions didn't seem to have fun for the player in mind and just feel punishing for no reason. The NM train in Anemos, while flawed, was fun in some way at least since it provided frequent changes of things you fought (be it bosses or regular mobs) and allowed for a broad range of player levels in one party.
