when the foolish mob super pulls and everyone is used to do doing that..it becomes a terribly foolish habit...i've survived many such encounters...and every single one of them puts an incredible amount of stress on the party. Some people get thier kicks from such things...that's all good and fine...but that doesn't mean it applies to everyone.

In this particular dungeon.... a "2 mob pull" is better and safer....not to mention more common sense than not. For gutless wonders..knock yourself out...don't expect me to give you high marks for smarts as a response however.

Oh woe is you. The dungeon may actually pose a mild challenge in lieu of being entirely braindead and nearly impossible to wipe because nothing hits harder than a wet noddle.

Safer, yes. Better, no. If the tank can survive, it will always be a better alternative to mass pull because things simply don't hit hard enough. A two mob pulls basically renders all my CDs on tank worthless. On healer, I am bored outta my skull since I'll never have to cast a heal. Now if trash mobs in dungeons were similar to PotD, you could justify taking it slower, and may actually be forced to because of priority mob targets. That's how you improve dungeons. Until then, the rush mentality will never die as the content doesn't impede you whatsoever.

And yes... PotD would be better mechanics in the long term for dungeons.

Have wiped on that pull once, the first time ever tanking that, the whole group going blind (didn't know there are 2 monsters doing huge breath attacks).
The snakes on that last leg of that dungeon have mini-tankbusters, so usually people pulling all four of those pulls (fairy pair, snake, water trio, snake #2) before the monkey twins get flattened unless DPS is outstanding.

Eh, don't have to troll to still sound like an arrogant hag. Also doesn't help since your main job seems to be not a tank, so it's not like it looks like you have much credibility in your argument anyway.

I haven't run it that often, but every time I've run it we've done the whole pull, and the group only wiped once (on the first time, since we didn't realise what was hitting that hard, after which we tried it a second time and cleared it). I don't think any of the groups have had "outstanding" DPS, but rather standard (have had strangers and/or first-timers as DDs on almost every run). It is demanding, sure, but like Bourne_Endeavor said above, it's also nice to have 1 pull that requires something from the group. Last time I did it I didn't have Hallowed and healer didn't have Bene and the group didn't have LB and we cleared it well, don't remember if we've used any of those on previous runs.

Especially in less serious content it really is "if I think I might be able to, I definitely should" for me.

Those kind of pulls and getting through them as healer or tank is pretty much the only thing that makes experts enjoyable for me. I feel like dying inside if people insist on single or double pulls when the party is perfectly capable of handling more. Of course if a tank or healer is completely new and super nervous and needs a slower pace, that's fine for me. But after you're familiar with your job and the content, why not try to push yourself a bit further?

If the party is willing to go for it...then go for it....more power to im...but don't second guess people...that's my sticking point.

Which is why with most random groups..ill tank..and pull as i see fit <which is cautiously to make sure the party can handle it - and if i see they are doing good - i may just throw a monkey wrench in and pull even more - i may be holding back because A: I happen to have an issue with the next batch B: I'm not as confident in the party - my job is to keep the party alive - not satisfy peoples bloodlust> or DPS and just not give a bloody crap about it and deal with whatever foolishness they throw my way...cause that's just how it is. Don't expect any commendations however....ill likely give that to the guy who suffered/broke his/her back for the party.

Which 9 times out of 10...is the healer.....sorry but its true.

Again...don't have a problem with people pushing their limits...but randoms? Don't trust people that much.... Hell I call it a miracle when someone actually uses Esuna. ^_^

If we want to discuss this idea of "credibility", none of the last few posters that have argued big pulls as being bad/stressful seem to have a "main job" that's a tank either. By this logic, that makes their own arguments invalid/less credible.

Legit question, do you think they are calling you a troll for disagreeing like you claim? Or because of your continued attitude while disagreeing?

    "I disagree with you."
    vs
"You're a stupid poo poo face for thinking X way!"

Part of me thinks you really do think people are upset at the disagreement, rather than you making things personal. (Of course, if you were well aware of this, then of course that's the very definition of trolling.)
