"logically" South America should see an improvement on Ping rates.. sadly my best friend in Peru went from 180 to 220-250+
I think SE should consider adding a server in south America because there is enough fan base there to cover the cost.

Eh, just put a .5 second cooldown on all abilities whenever any skill is used. Then no one will be able to weave, there will always bea .5 second delay before the next input regardless if it's an OGCD ability or not.

If the SA fanbase wasn't big enough for them to be considered when SE decided on the new location, I doubt it's big enough to warrant its own datacenter.

Christ, you're pretty heartless.
For YEARS, EU players had no choice but to pick NA-located servers and there was absolutely no indication that they'd ever relocate the "EU" servers until not too long before it happened either.
So you're being kind of a dick to people that (god forbid) want to stay in the friendships that they have created and nurtured for those years.
Anyway, EU players and East coast Americans/Canadians are on the same side in terms of disliking the new server location...
*Edit*
There is also the fact that many Europeans don't want to be involved in multilingual affairs due to communication difficulties - so they picked NA for that reason too.

PLD - PvE Main, SMN - PvP Main.

Here is an interactive map of the submerged cable network.http://www.submarinecablemap.com/
Alright just did a ping test and i'm at 39-41 MS and i'm on wireless with Fibre OP, i'm also as far east as I can be in Canada not including Newfoundland if I was on regular wireless I think i'd be screwed.
Dumb decision not bringing it near Dallas or Chicago...or somewhere near the middle.

Its only been hours and ISPs haven't optimized routing for a new DataCenter. You act like SE doesn't have a ton of optimization and adjustments to do now that everything is live and generating real data. Not an isp issue if a large amount of the population sees the problem on different isps on different distances, etc. All I see here is the few people commenting simply does not see the delays. It is very annoying. The support desk and FC chest is still ungodly slow too. (most likely moogle mail too but I need to be sent a few items to test that, lol)

I am 95% certain this is the route they will take for SB. Expect an announcement of it during the live letter in 5 days.
They normalized Mudra inputs, so why not every other oGCD skill?
If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!

Before today my friends and me had no plans of transferring, now we're all contemplating the option once the free transfers become available, assuming the terms set for the transfer are good. Will see how things go, though, and how much of a benefit we might see from a VPN, especially the one of us who got fucked over most to the point that for her, FFXIV is pretty unplayable at a level she finds remotely acceptable.
My pings end up around the 170-190 mark, as do a friend's. Meanwhile one of my group of friends that's EU too was sitting at 250ms or higher. Until she logged off in frustration, anyway.
