Yeah, how dare people complain the server move will up their ping, and now of no fault of their own they need to adjust to an increase sluggishness in gameplay!
That's sarcasm, because your argument is pretty nonsensical and non-equivalent.
Posts like that are as believable as tearful Twitter goodbyes. They're being drama queens now, but when the servers are back up they'll be first in line to log in and will keep playing no matter their ping.

If they really enjoy the game I don't think they will care in the end. There are always going to be gripes with whatever you are playing.
I used to be on ps3 and changed to ps4, the enjoyment went up a lot higher. The fact before EU had the EU data server, was still playable, but when we actually got ours, it was a lot more smoother. Even just maret board was floating smoother. This for some people makes the game more enjoyable. Some people do raids and such, which lower ping would be better.

PS3 is ancient in terms of technology now. Like I said though, everyone will always have gripes about the game but it doesn't matter if you enjoy it.I used to be on ps3 and changed to ps4, the enjoyment went up a lot higher. The amazing thing to me is that people seem to think they can change where the server is going, just 4 hours before it goes live, by just complaining on the NA forums...
Regardless of how good or bad the new location might be, that's pretty naive...

XIV community honestly needs some kind of purge. Maybe this is that.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥

Life with a three digit ping is no life at all anyway. What's another 90 going to do? Re-wreck your life?

Have to remember, forum goers are minority of the player base. And especially during maintenance, those that hang on the forum without anything else to do, pinging servers that are not yet even tested in actual use, are those who easily will blow things out of proportions.
If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

It also mostly impacts endgame content because that's where you're trying to optimize. At least, relatively speaking. I disagree with the OP though, 190-200 ping is awful. But it's also not something to quit the game over. Just get WTFast/Battleping.
