I did not! Yeah, I'm "used" to certain things, but I still wouldn't kick someone from playing their way. I was simply asking a question as if I was speaking to the person who kicked the TC.

This is exactly my point, It will be wayyyy worse in 4.0 when levelling other classes doesnt matter anymore. But being a sensible person even when i tank, i wouldnt cry about not having protect. But that doesnt mean some random df tank wouldnt. Just realize as this person stated, that people may freak out, Arguments are fine, but if youre the healer who is random in a premade 3 man? You may get kicked and this is all ive stated. whether facts legitimize it happening or not, you go at your own risk making a stink that cross class skills arent a big deal. The ones that know do not care if you perform well, but this is DF we're talking about,If I was your tank, and did not carry Flash, Provoke, or whatever, would you want me to stay? Choose wisely, because if you take aggro due to healing me, I can't Provoke the add off you.
Not having Protect shows you don't care for your job, others, the game, or yourself.
I read the thread, then it hit on me.
... It most likely won't matter at all anymore come Stormblood. Hahaha.
As far as the subject is concerned, though, indeed, I believe Cleric Stance is the first skill that should be cross-classed as a healer. And everytime I did dungeons below level 30 as SCH, the fairy did almost all the healing. I mean, the entirety (quite literally!) of SCH's exclusive spells aren't even available at that point ! The only actual healing spells the SCH have... are Physick and Resurrection. You'd think that makes it quite obvious the fairy is the actual healer at that point...
i was serious, it isnt just a joke that sch can autofollow tanks, ive been in instances where they have, this is exactly right. In SB not having SS or Protect, or anything cross role, will definitely be looked even worse upon, in my opinion.I read the thread, then it hit on me.

And yet as others have pointed out we have the ability to do both with just a bit of swapping at the beginning.
Protect may only save a few points damage at lower levels, but to not use it at all is simply lazy.
lol The healer is lazy because he is not casting a spell that makes their job a tiny bit easier. really???
Hmmm technically it makes their job a tiny tiny bit harder. Seeing a healer come in with cleric instead of protect would actually make me think "nice this person knows how to dps and heal, as they feel confident to run a dungeon without protect"

Cleric Stance is always my first cross-class for SCH and AST. If they kicked me for not having Protect in a face-roll easy dungeon, I'd consider it a blessing. I wouldn't want to play with people like that anyway.
This might be a non issue in 4.0. We are getting a revamp of the cross class skills. If they want us to have a little more experience in other classes make it a prereq for the quest. Don't use the leftover 1.0 system as an excuse.
The kick was completely legit under the system as players understand right now. They wanted a healer to prioritize mitigation over dps output. Seems like they were at an impasse, vote kick allowed both parties to move on with their gaming experience.
The healer dps threads just degenerate into a forum filled hate fest. The player base seems to be pretty polarized about the situation. Hopefully they are thinking of a way to try to lessen this divisive issue.
I prefer not going the first minute without being able to cast anything. It just bugs me more than it should when abilities are on that long cooldown. And in that minute I can't do any dps :/
Well yes... you summed it quite well there.
They could be doing something additional which would be beneficial. How beneficial it would be is debatable and I'll give you that, but they're choosing not to do it, that's lazy.
