I actually find it quite funny how much of this seems to exist in Final Fantasy of all places.. where every protagonist in recent memory is a effeminate or androgynous man.

The person who got me into this game had people leave their party because they played a tank and we're a male miqo'te with pastel lipstick and a fair number of people would comment don't want a *homophobic slur* for a tank

Without getting too political it just blows my mind how many people seem to have problems with effeminate male characters in a final fantasy game.
