    Is ff 14. Too feminine?

I am not intending this thread to insult people. It is just an issue occurred where my nephews were going to play ff with me noticed the little lady's day event and looked up the outfits in the game. Now they are telling me they are not going to play the game with me because it is too girly. Are we going a bit too far in the aesthetics department of design as of late in this depiction that would cause a lot of male players not to even try this game?

Oh, puh-lease. This game already caters to straight male players more than anything. That's just a knee-jerk reaction to the notion that other player bases with their own wants even exist.

Can you explain why you believe this game caters to straight male players more than anything? I'm thinking your reason for saying this is because of how revealing some of the female clothing is in the game. But, there are actually quite a few (if not equal) number of revealing clothes for male characters.

It's a Japanese game with an anime influenced aesthetic, are you surprised or something?

Aesthetic is good as it is and separates itself from all the other copy cat games. The only complaint I have is sometimes it's a bit over the top (specifically glows and giant armour) and repetition (a lot of armour seems the same with slight variation).

I was about to say the same thing but he beat me to it. But I have a question, why do they think it's too girly?

I honestly don't know. Did Lady's Day give you armour that was "girly"? All I got was a choker.

Armour is most of the time unisex and doesn't look like for a certain sex either way.

The biggest argument is there are no "burley stereotypical man" looking males but eh, it's anime. Play Elder Scrolls or Age of Conan if you want that. Or a Galka/Hellsguard.

I think a lot of the armor designs are too feminine for male characters. I don't the game caters to female players but does cater to female characters. Which is one reason why men play female characters (yes I brought it up). Also, even the most masculine characters you can make looks like a fashion model, very meterosexual.

This I have to flat out disagree with. Have you seen highlanders and roes? Elezen males also get an option for a face that is very masculine and not really smooth at all.

But you rolled a miqo'te. Well, yeah. Miqo'te are definitely more suited to a more childlike look. The options are there, but if that's what you want, lalafell, miqo'te, and midlander are all bad choices. Highlander, Roe, Elezen, etc are the way to go.

Being attractive and having good physical features does not equate to metrosexuality :P

Excessive primping and preening and the like makes one "meterosexual" and believe me I have seen a lot of unattractive, very unmodel-like guys that are like this.

Don't judge or label a book by its cover, even if it is a very attractive and sleek one.
