how do you not? the next patch gives you better gear to go for progressing your character more. we are always progressing our characters.
once again why does your raid have to give you better gear when you don't need it?
p.s insults do nothing for you.
I answered the question, you just don't like the answer. Tough cookies kiddo. You still have not answered mine![]()
here let me help you...
actually you didn't you said raiding is the only form of progressing which isn't true.
has nothing to do with not liking your answer has to do with you being down right wrong.
insulting people doesn't magically prove your point.
i am not sure you are getting my point no one needs extra ilvl gear in this game (as it's not wow ff11 eq)
the best ilvl gear in the game is extra ilvls for everyone no matter who can or cannot get them saying one person deserves it more for ilvl bloat doesn't make a good reason to do it.

First, let me quote myself from this very thread:

Now back to you, You still have not answered my question, lololololol. Dodge Duck Dip Dive Dodge!
Why does it matter to you if there is a 10 ilvl difference. Does that petty little ilvl difference really matter to you so much? Don't bother replying to me unless you answer my question, because I am done responding to you until you answer it.
so in the end it's all ego. congrats *claps* you have no real reason to have better gear.First, let me quote myself from this very thread:

Item level is this games form of progression, everyone needs extra item levels as a result... A MMO with no endgame progression is a dead MMO...
My issue is with SE treating the games progression, as Jynx put it, as a participation award... It makes far more sense to me, for there to be (at least) two different paths for progression, with each tailored to player type... Instead we have one, and because it has to cater to everyone, it frequently invalidates content... Why would I do Midas, when I know 3.4 is going to make i250/i260 readily available? I don't need to actively do Midas in order to prepare for Creator, and Gordias is just rotting in a ditch somewhere... Item levels are pointless as a result, they're replaced far too frequently... The complaint from "casuals" though, is that their item level would feel pointless if a group of more active players were earning higher item levels... It's an odd mentality IMO, I mean never mind that item levels are pointless anyway, how are these people even paying their subscription fee? Shouldn't they be living on the street having shredded their paychecks because someone out there is earning more than them? I mean, someone out there is doing better than them, everything in their life must be worthless then... That's not how the world works though, yet for some reason that's the complaint that is, IMO, dooming XIVs progression system...
And just a disclaimer; I would not describe myself as a raider, or even particularly hardcore in XIV. My issue stems from a casual mindset... I'd rather have two progression models, one for me and one for raiders, and I'd be perfectly happy with raiders getting more out of theirs, because they're putting more into the game... That might even motivate me to start raiding... Instead we have a game where my motivation sits very low... I want a game where I can look at someones gear and go "Cool! I want that!", whether I can actually get it is irrelevant to me, it makes the game seem grander. I'd (hopefully) be enjoying whatever I'm doing, yet there would be another peak to climb... That's the kind of game that holds my interest... Instead SE actively levels mountains and resets everyone at the same point...

this isn't the world this is a video game wanting to cater to the casual masses.
why would the game actively choose to screw over the very crowd it's going for?
the end game raids were always meant to be done for fun, and the game to be based around everything else. during the beginning of 2.0 era coil didn't even have a 5ilvl weapon difference then in a later patch gave it to raider to give them alittle more incentive without completely making all other gear useless during the same patch.
yet there have been many compromises but the only one that matters is ilvl gear nothing else matter so there is no way to compromise.
mounts/minions/titles/music sheets /nope only the ilvl of gear matters (but we will take the others with it also!)

We have very different definitions of "screw over"...
I really don't see how rewarding casuals and raiders differently is "screwing over" casuals... To me, that just stinks of the sense of entitlement that is commonly used to discredit the demographic I'm more likely to describe myself as... I haven't touched Midas, or Nidhogg... In fact, the last "hardcore" content I did was Ravana (EX), back when I was hoping 3.0 might be different to 2.0... I really don't think I'm being screwed over if raiding was actually more rewarding... Right now I'm being screwed over, because all the casual content is a joke, further ruined by the fact that dungeons that don't even require i200 will be populated by people in i250 in a few months... Peoples sense of entitlement for raider level rewards is actively making already subpar content worse, IMO at least...

in the end gear is all that matters, it's why the players allow (except for the one completely against cash shop) minions/mounts/glamour be in a cash shop but not meaningful gear because besides the few who actively like p2w most people like having the best gear be it earned through hard to get methods or easily gotten methods.
you really think most the player base would be fine with taking away what they already have?
why must all games end game work exactly the same? it's not like this game hid the way it worked as this has been the way of the game since launch, other than the story being put in a easy mode.
why ask a game to stop being the game it is?
because it's the game you like but you want it to change? what about the players who doesn't want that change? they should just get over it?

You're joking, right? Raids are perhaps the one place better gear is justifiable... Why do "casuals" need i260 from Scriptures when they probably don't even require i210 for the content they do?
