On topic : Before FF, I played a game called Dragon nest. They had system and things that worked before and they strongly believed that if something has worked because it should work again. Thus for 4 years of playing the community saw Raids with the same design, mechanics, gear progression
& cash shop updates with the thing either recolored, added effects or wings. And the players who were their biggest spenders and contributors just left. Reusing something doesn’t work for every game, eventually players will get burnt out no matter how persistent or hardcore one is. Even the most supportive players are criticizing recent thing.
