Important to note that as a model you can easily treat DoTs as big "nukes" with a CD the same as their duration. If you do this, you'll realize that our "CDs" scale with SS which no other class does.

Can you please explain that further, I don't understand. I get the idea of treating a dot like a nuke with the duration of the dot. Makes sense. But as the dot timer is fixed, and not a function of spell speed, I am not getting the "If you do this, you'll realize that our "CDs" scale with SS which no other class does." part.

At the end of the day, however the math ends up working, The only value I see in spell speed would be whatever additional ruin casts it would create.
