My exact thought, also. He never had any notes when he was speaking about the Jobs, many a time did he say "I think" or "cant remember", yet people I taking it for verbatim as if it's the bible.

Everything you read or hear, English articles, especially Japanese Translated ones, should be taken lightly and be used as a rough estimation of how it works.

My point exactly. After seeing how fleshed out and mechanically flowing Ninja was, I doubt they'd disturb our rotations by making us randomly use this ability that only gives a gain after 5 uses, even if i CAN see uses for it. Thats like giving SMN's Astral Fire to stop their MP regen at random intervals.

I think really, we should wait to see how much stuff is going to change. We don't even know if our current cooldowns are maybe being changed, or anything like that at all, there's no reason to panic (much like the ninja omg positionals" panic right now).

There's no way there's a 30 second CD on something like that unless there's a TP cost along with it. Something like that would need at least a 90 second CD. I mean Howling Fist is 170 potency and a 60 second CD.

maybe they will change greased lightning stacks to increase physical damage by x% instead of attack power by x% (similar to what they did with Nin's kiss stances) and Elixir Drive may be magical based damage. That's the only way I could ever see this attack being a 30s cooldown and even then it's still incredible for an aoe attack.

Or they could just tack on "Not affected by Greased Lightning." the same way that Inner Beast has "Ignores the damage penalty inflicted by Defiance."

If it had a TP cost you wouldnt use it in this case, and if it wasnt affected as an off GCD I don't see why it wouldnt be. 60s CD is more likely.

I dunno, a 300 potency AOE move sounds pretty good, even if not affected by GL3. I mean, GL3 is a 27% boost? 300/1.27 is 236 functional potency if it ignores GL3, right? That's still pretty hefty for an AOE ability. That puts it, what, just behind Dragonfire Dive on Dragoon (250 potency)? I'd say that even if they made GL3 not affect it (and I'm not saying they would, just it's an alternative to Sora's solution, which is basically the current situation with NIN venoms), it would still be a pretty good AOE ability.

Yeah, if you don't count twin snakes or Dragon Kick. I don't think they'd make a single ability the exception, it doesnt really fit thematically. The change was made because Ninja's potencies are already rediculous, and buffing their magic damage even more was a bit silly.

you guys realize elixir drive uses the stacks of chakra right? its meant to be the alternative to forbidden chakra. 30s cd seems rather redundant to me though since it will usually take far longer than that in order to get the downtime to get the chakra stacks.

theres one major difference, the PCgamer guy was a main monk, idk about all of you but i for one would remember the changes that would affect me in far greater detail than everyone elses jobs

You sure about that? The alternative to forbidden chakra is the tp move, I dont remember him mentioning anything about three moves working off of chakra.
