While you have a point, often times people are so concerned with me, me, me, me, me, that they forget there are other people in the party that maybe first timers that would actually like to experience the content, without being hounded to skipped cut-scenes, because X asshole wants his drop or dungeon to clear book. Zodiac drop rates are not enablers for people to ignore mechanics, proper preparation/briefing before fights, among common courtesy...

    That's an excuse.

But trying to push as fast and effectively (without wipes) as you again even with the newest, worst geared, poorly skilled players in your group is the fun part. Predicting the outcome, and what your group can handle is the challenge, and it is a learned skill.

You don't have to be mean or have mean intentions to always encourage the group perform the best they can.
I don't mind joining a roulette and getting bad/poorly geared/new players. What I mind is getting lazy people who never even try to push themselves or improve. In game and in real life.

Also I haven't seen anyone watch a cutscene in a roulette in a very very long time, your confusing the outliers of the issues with the average.

I'm not confusing anything, I was actually generalizing. It's you that has the impression that new players don't exist in lvl 50 content...

Also what's fun for you may not be fun for others. Pushing yourself is one thing but to demand something from someone that is uncomfortable with doing as you requested, unless it is a mechanic that is necessary to beat a coil/trial, is not cool. That's pretty much what this topic is about. If someone, mainly the healer, says they don't want large pulls, I think it's in the tanks and DPS' best interest to take that seriously. It's like having open heart surgery, your doctor tells you to stay on bed rest 3 - 4 weeks, and then you decide you are going to do 200 push-ups non-stop at the buttcrack of dawn the very next day after surgery.

    Listen to your doctor...

If that's something that's agreed upon and feasible depending on the content level then that's fine, but the problem is when other roles (DPS mostly) force the tank down the SR role by taking over their job if they don't approve of the speed that they handle the run, or by the tank not assessing their party makeup well enough to know SR's just aren't possible with two melee in a dungeon...but they do it anyway. With the content as grindy as it is now I can't say I blame them for trying to SR with the relic dungeon drops though. SE is kind of forcing it on them if they want to finish their relics. Its the same with other classes though too, they just don't happen to be in a role that sets the pace of a dungeon.
In regards to the comment about DPS forcing the tank down SR route, let them die. Their role is DPS, not to decide how much hate the tank can handle.

SE is not really "forcing" anyone to the SR route. People get this absurd impression that everything is meant to be completed ASAP in the game, such as weapon upgrades. It's not. There are other alternatives that will get the same results without inconveniencing everyone with the "assumed" SR mentality. Having Novus+ on every job is not a requirement, it's more of an individual preference/goal...
