I had an amazing experience today in Cutter's Cry where this awful PLD came in to do some spiritbonding. His entire right side was all spiritbonding junk and a Meteor Survivor Ring. He also wasn't a very good tank. Took forever to pull, constantly lost hate. Then, when we get part of the way through the 3rd leg of the dungeon, he just quits the dungeon. Why? I'm betting because SPIRITBOND COMPLETE GUYS. Great, I didn't want to finish the dungeon or get xp or anything.

I remain mystified why the dev team saw fit to implement such an unfriendly system:

1) Pure RNG. No skill involves.
2) Incentivizes wearing garbage gear, even in actual content where you are matched with players trying to actually get things done.
3) Required to actually craft, since you need full materia melded crafting gear to do endgame crafting. Feeds heavily into 1).
4) Required to do relic. Costs millions upon MILLIONS or even more ridiculous amounts of time to make an optimized relic. Feeds heavily into 1)
