How many casuals would spend several hundred dollars to go to a convention in LAS VEGAS (very expensive area)? Not many. Hardcore players would without a doubt. Would you go to a comic book convention if you didn't care that much for what went on there?
That really depends on how you define hardcore vs casual.
Obviously you have to be into the game to want to go, but it certainly wasn't a "raiders only" event that you're implying. There were tons of people, from role players, to those dedicated about the lore, even a decent amount of casuals, and yes, even raiders. Did you not watch any of the streams? Any of the interviews of players during fan fest?
Just because you don't play a lot does not mean you're not dedicated to the game, likewise, just because you don't raid doesn't mean you aren't dedicated to the game either. If anything, what you're saying is pretty insulting to everyone, because you're generalising and essentially implying the only people that care enough about the game to visit something like Fan Fest are the raiders.
Guess what, they are LOYAL fans who want to subscribe on a LONG-TERM basis. Casuals want to play for a bit and cancel their Sub some months and come back "here and there" to play every so often. Loyal Fans want to play for a long time, they want content that takes a long time to clear because its FUN and CHALLENGING. IMO Their money counts more than anyone else.
If you really want to start that argument about who spends more money and economic game health, then we can go that way, on those kind of terms.

I'm with you on the whole don't nerf coil thing but in my opinion you lose all your credibility when you lump casuals into a group who plays a bit and cancels their sub. Here's a newsflash for you, everybodies money has the same value and to come on these forums you need to have an active subscription. Just because you've been subbed a long time doesn't give you the right to belittle an entire group of players and tell them their opinions don't matter. I know casuals who haven't cancelled their sub since launch and only play a few hours a week.
It's great you're loyal and I'm sure SE appreciates it but we need the new players just as much as the old ones. I've been playing this game since 1.0 alpha and even I don't consider my money to be worth anymore than the people who just started. Get off your high horse because with arguments like this one you are definitely the one being childish.
Just because you don't agree with somebody doesn't make what they say nonsense, some people like it hard, some people like it easy and some people just don't give a fuck, that's life so get over yourself please.

If your sooooo casual and spend 1 hour per week playing this game, you DO NOT deserve to clear coil, SIMPLE as that. You need to get over YOURSELF and accept it.
Goodbye.
First of all I never even said 1 hour per week, several of the people I'm talking about Only log in for coil and have cleared several turns. Who are you to tell people what they deserve anyways? Wasn't it you who said that the people who pay the money should have the say? A few of them are legacy and have been playing since 1.0 with me so again, get over yourself.
Where is your legacy chocobo? Oh wait, you don't even have one. Your opinion must be of lesser value based on your previous posts.
Bro? I was with you on almost ALL the stuff you have mentioned in this thread; until now. lol
I don't play that often per week. I'm not in any static to clear T6-9 BUT, I don't rely on others to carry me. Matter of fact, all the times my FC offered to help me in T5, I said no. I did my own progression and practiced in PF groups as learning PTs UNTIL, I felt I could do the job I needed to do on my own. As a Dragoon, everyone knows, it's not the "easiest" job for T5. You have quite a bit of responsibility. Now, I'M helping others progress. All of that to say, "you DO NOT deserve a coil clear, simple as that." is kind of a stretch.
People DO have to take accountability for WANTING to learn. Just because it's hard or frustrating, doesn't mean it should be nerfed. I agree with you. But to take the stand of "you don't deserve" something is rather harsh. They may not "deserve" it if they don't TRY but, one hour per week, if spent practicing, could net them a win. Most of our previous group had about an hour a night or every other night to devote to T6 and WE CLEARED IT! So it CAN be done. But, we wanted it.
That some of the problems with mmo's everyone has certain times schedule different type of gaming they like to do ect it easy just to lump everyone into the same category of gamer, but it isn't as simple as everyone including myself make it out to be.Bro? I was with you on almost ALL the stuff you have mentioned in this thread; until now. lol

It's one of the things I miss about XIV being separated by regions rather than open to every person on the planet to play together!![]()
Also, if there is one thing I wish they would "nerf"? Private Housing. Kthx xD
