Numbers don't make you a better player or teach you to show restraint when need be. It's pointless to me, but different strokes for different folks.

If your job is DPS how is doing more DPS "pointless". I understand what you're saying, and I agree with you to a point. I'd rather have someone who isn't the best dps in the world but know hows to dodge, than a dps machine that can't. Or even just a nice human being that talks. But to say it is "pointless" is just lying to yourself.

I didn't say doing more DPS is pointless. I said the meter is pointless. Why did you put your own insinuation in there?

Because what you quoted was giving you reasons why there should be a meter. All about doing more dps. And then you said that doesn't make you a better player. So it was pretty heavily implied..

I don't imply things. I just say them and I didn't say doing more damage was pointless. That's just moronic beyond belief. Seeing numbers wouldn't matter. It doesn't teach you anything, really. I personally don't need a meter to know if I'm doing my part, but as I said, different strokes for different folks.

It isn't moronic. It is a logical line of reasoning, when people don't spell out exactly what they said. It is kind of how conversations work. So instead of incorrectly using words, how about you respond like a human being. It is moronic to think that being able to measure damage output won't help you understand your job. Other games have it, and when they do people are able to tell if what they are doing is strong or weak compared to others. Then from that they can see why. Is the other person more geared? Does the other person have a different rotation? Is the other person in a better position? Are they faster?

So I do think you were implying that, even if you don't know you were. But even if you weren't, you are still wrong. So be wrong under a slightly different wording, I am sorry.
