I have and quit them after I found out and if anyone joins a Free company or group that promotes only leader loot, I would really hope you consider leaving that group or Free company because you'll never get anything.

They go by greed I knew a few on FFXI had the most dumbest rules and never followed their own rules when people were running separate runs from outside the Linkshell, so yeah anyone who joins those things should leave quit fast and now.
