So, appearantly I got added to a 'list'

Well, this is new AND exciting.

Apparently, there exists somewhere out there that is a sort of ****list for players who do the item-lock farm parties. I know this, because while running one (locking caster body, one of the most popular locks I've noticed) I received a correspondence from someone that told me I was being black listed for doing exactly that.

My resolution was basically to report this person for harassment. Seeing as they're going out of their way to slander someone 'on a website', this strikes me as little else than a threat tactic to try and get people to open their parties up to them / they're mad because they can't join as that party and don't want the responsibilities of leading an effective party.



I guess my real question is, is this legitimately a problem with the community as a whole? I've been farming this body piece since Coil went off-lockdown for my alt Black Mage, pushing off buying the body piece in favor of it and have seen it multiple times. If I dislike it, I just don't join, you know?

If you can make parties that make everyone greed except for you, then people can choose not to join you and farm that item for you, they aren't using SE forums to do it, they aren't posting it in game, so SE can't punish them for that. It is their private website, and it's not slander because they are posting that you make those type parties, so it is true. Also I'm curious what the tell you blue'd out is.

actually, I go Black Mage / class-specific on these runs. I just lock it because I don't want to lose a lot after farming 2-3+hours/day.

Oh, and the line of blue is from a friend that got mixed into the message that I didn't want to edit out ><

Not big deal. I host parties and locking specific item all time and didn't have a problem.

If I have a problem with that I simply won't join the group, but I see no reason to go out of my way to "scold" said person.

Personally I'd be much more concerned with the hundreds of players blacklisting you who don't say anything rather than the one that's making a scene.

Can someone explain what 'gear locking' even is?

The person that makes the party gets to pick gear that no one can roll on except for him, everyone else just greeds or needs their loot.
