Casual games breed casual players. The game holds your hand for everything up to Ifrit HM.
Thank you. At least somebody gets it.
See quote #1.
To be fair, if you're basing any MMO pve as a metric to whether you're good or not you're doing it wrong. You either know your scripted fights & class mechanics or you don't.
I like how the OP created a thread saying people should be banned. So he's not only a bad player who contributed to his party wiping, but also an a-hole who thinks he should determine who is and isn't allowed to play based on whimsy.
Gee, I think people crafting everywhere outside of town making crafting noises is annoying. They should be banned. Oh, don't criticize me you elitists!!!11
No I stopped posting because I was at work, and tell me, how was that particular comment lying? A comment like "Are you trolling, your damage was xxk" is just like saying "You suck" and yes I do consider people like that, who say things like that and offer no constructive advice, douchebags and scum, they are all toxic and are who gives the community a bad name.
I was using this thread as an example, if the community is going to use parsers for no reason but to put people down (read how something is said, not what is said) then yes they should be banned, as it can upset people or cause major damage to the game. I played many MMOs and this is the only time I have been called out in such a manner. If people want to keep parsers, and want to use them, you should all see how it only takes a few people to give a tool a bad name.
Lets look at keyloggers as an example of how this can work, they were designed for parents to see why their kid was shut in their room on their computer for hours, but hackers started using it for malicious uses, and now a keylogger is primarily seen as a hackers tool. How long will it be before parsers are seen in this game as a tool to show off epeen, or to put people down. I'm sure if SE wanted they could add a system to check whether a tool is accessing chat logs, or encrypt them to block or detect whether a parser is being used, and who would be to blame if SE were to do this, the people deliberately putting players down over dps.
I think a problem with the community are a-holes who have one bad experience with somebody who calls them out for playing poorly/lazily, and then come on the forum to vilify a whole group of people and say they're all bad people and should be banned.

So I was wondering...if this game was catered to casuals, why am I not able to "casually" press 1 then 2 then 3 and beat all the content in the game? Why are there hard dps checks in primals and coils? Why do they force me to put forth effort to clear content? I shouldn't have to figure out the best rotation to my class and to perform at it's peak to progress, this isn't casual enough for me.
Please read my posts before commenting
I have nothing wrong with hardcore players, I don't have anything wrong with my FC parsing fights and telling me I need to improve, hell I don't even mind if I get told I need to improve in DF, just don't say it in a manner people will see as rude. My example from before was something along the lines of "Delsus, you had a very low dps, would you be able to focus a little more please" If there are more problems then yes by all means get more aggressive, but not in the first instance.
The thread here was to show people this kind of behavior is happening and if people keep reporting players for it then the parsers will be blocked or a tool added to detect use in order to ban all users.
Keyloggers existed long before those kind of programs where even thought of.Lets look at keyloggers as an example of how this can work, they were designed for parents to see why their kid was shut in their room on their computer for hours, but hackers started using it for malicious uses, and now a keylogger is primarily seen as a hackers tool. How long will it be before parsers are seen in this game as a tool to show off epeen, or to put people down.
Anyway, check last post on page #17 if you want my view on the whole issue.
Well, if he did say "you suck!" and goes on with it... then ok, go ahead and report. I just see "Delsus, are you trolling?" as something to "Delsus, you can't be serious?" It wasn't something to be really worked up with.
Yeah, its not like the guy came to the forum and made a thread saying "Delsus and anyone who plays as poorly as him should be banned from the game."
