So what will happen to the Primal Ex's once the Relic upgrade is available?

So for about a week now I've been ramming my head against Garuda Ex. As frustrating as it is, I enjoy the fact that there is a legitimate alternative to end-game progression. Right now as opposed to having to save up Myth tombs for 2 weeks to upgrade your relic weapons you can try your hand at the Ex's and in theory have an i90 weapon in a week.

I fear that with the myth cap being removed and with Zebith weapons clearly being a better alternative (as they require no risk to obtain and can be upgraded) that Primal Ex trials will become a ghost town. Assuming that Primal Ex trials are not required for the Zenith Relic weapon upgrades do you believe that Ex Primals will hold any niche if they are present in 2.2 in their current state?

Likely you will still need to beat the first 3 ex primals if you want to do the later ones and the new quest probably invloves mog ex and levithan ex.

Why not? Getting one of the best weapon(s) in the game, you'll most likely need to fight something very hard to get the reward. Ex primals is the only likely candidate atm,

They will become something you clear once and leave behind forever most likely (think ifrit story mode pre duty roulette)

Never saw any Myth tombs in the game. The closest one was Hildibrand's.

Use for vanity if you like the looks of the Ex weapons better?
Equip alt classes/jobs so you can spend your myth on likely crafting materials instead?
Farming 900 myth to upgrade a relic still takes time, so if you're capable of clearing the Ex Primals, that's a faster way to equipe alt classes/jobs. As you slowly get better equipment in 2.2, the current Ex primals should be easier to beat if you can't handle them yet.

It's very unlikely they'll be required for further relic upgrades. New content is more likely to be required for that.
I think it's unlikely, but admit it's possible, that you need to do the current Ex before taking on Leviathan Ex and/or King Mog Ex...
