Edited for clarity one way or the other. Not changing my stance. Lawyering the system to get back at someone is unconscionable. Creating a thread to gloat about how you lawyered the system to get back at someone is just disgusting.

The only reason parsing isn't supported officially is because people can't stand be shown how bad they are with actual evidence, and all those adorable excuses mean nothing.

People can't stand to think that perhaps they actually aren't very good at something, and require some practice and effort to improve.

A lesson on why parsers should be a bannable offence, now I know the real reason for parsers is as an aid to improve dps, but when it comes to calling players out over dps using them, they should be bannable. Just in the Thornmarch to get my win (I don't get to play much) we wipe once and a healer parsing the fight just says "Delsus are you trolling, your dps was xxk"

Um, yeah if I didn't badly need the win before 2.2 I would have left there and then, I don't normally take that kind of douchebaggery. (is that even a word?)

You pretty much just gave the reason for parser, take it like a man and improve yourself, it's not fun being terrible. No offense.

The elitism in this thread is amusing. FFXIV is not a hardcore game, nor does it have hardcore content or "pro" players. This game is WoW-levels of casual, and that's okay because it at least makes up for the embarrassment that was 1.0 and FF13.

I think what he is implying (and I agree with) is that if you are using this game as a way to prove you are "LEET GAMER PRO" than you are using a crappy metric.

To be fair, if you're basing any MMO pve as a metric to whether you're good or not you're doing it wrong. You either know your scripted fights & class mechanics or you don't.

On the other hand, given how relatively simple the mechanics of the fights are in this game, it's disturbing how many people are just plain awful.
