Bard Nerfs Offically Confirmed

Foe is too much of a DPS gain to not invite at least one if you ask me.

even without battle voice, its +60dps in a full group with 2 casters, obviously even more if there is AoE involved (AK/WP etc.)
and if you are outgearing the content, its pretty much up - all the time

you are pretty much guranteed a slot in both 4man and 8man content as long as Casters deal high damage/aoe dmg

Ya.. bards are clearly acceptable because magic users are overpowered, and bards help them. That's a great argument. Requiring 1 per group/raid is not balance. Being able to swap any dps for any dps is balance ( it's ok for small amounts of fights to favor some classes to promote diversity).

Also pretty sure using bard in 4 man's is not the optimal setup.

aka i dont care what class i am, i just want to 1 2 3 4 and spam through content. Pokemon must be damn imbalanced because you cant swap any pokemon for fire type when fight against water enemy.

I don't think the dps will get nerfed. He made it sound like bards dps isn't hindered by avoiding enemy attacks so I think they might add casting times to the stronger attacks.

If they do, they need to buff up the damage of those attacks to be in line with the other dps. Which can easily be done through itemization. Specifically bring the relic weapon in line with other classes.

Actually they are a dps class... one that has access to very limited, very temporary buffs that significantly lower dps while using them. There is no such thing as a support class in ffxiv... many other classes have support buffs or debuffs as well.

It's a support class. No raid group can exist without a bard because white mages cannot exist without mana song. Even Scholars will run oom in either Turn 4 or Twintania.

These are not "limited buffs". These are mandatory features.

It is a dps class that has support abilities. Every dps class has support to some degree, just that bards take the largest hit to dps when they use theirs.

Don't even compare Mana song to the "support" of other classes. Nobody buys this BS argument of yours.

By all means run a group without a single bard and get back to me.
