So I have some pieces of gryphonskin. I know I shouldnt replace it with darklight cause it already has the same if not better stats so for materia should I put in strength, skill speed so that i can fit true strike in my rotation or critical hit?

Depends on which pieces you purchased, I'm assuming you got HQ of course - in which case you would not be able to socket anymore strength. The chest though for instance, has no crit on it normally, so you can socket a ton of crit on it - 3 to 4 of the sockets depending on if you use III or IV level materia.

The important thing to note though - The Gryphonskin is better because you will be overmelded it to 5 materia, which will be very expensive. It's worth it of course, but, if you don't do it it's really not much better than just getting DL.
