I get what you are saying, but still doesnt change the fact that the FFXIV-Relic quest line is more like FFXI Af Weapons, while Legendary Weapons will be actually on par with FFXI Relics. It has been proven by Japanese people mainly than this Questline CAN be done within 1 day or 2 days, if you really want it. How does it matter if people did not beat Ifrit x?
Um because Ifrit extreme takes linkshells weeks to months to learn how to kill the first time? I am guessing you have never fought it if you are comparing this to the level 40 AF weapons in XI, which you could get that one "godlike" level 60 guy in your first social linkshell that is sitting there in full dragoon AF and level 14 rings to solo the fight for you.

If you had someone give you all their currency in XI you could get the quest line done within a few days as well if it werent for the fact that it was designed to make you wait a certain amount of time between each phase of the quest line.

I am not denying that there are too many relics, but this stems from the fact that the quest line was designed so that multiple people in a linkshell can go into a dungeon and they can all work on it at the same time and make the same amount of progress. If they had made it so that each dungeon run you only got one of each drop per party item the number of relics would probably be about 20% of what it currently is making them seem like its so much harder to get them, when in reality it is just more time consuming.
