Means it is actually difficult to get the relic(the first time around anyway) and they might as well be Legendary weapon. The one that keeps saying it isn't is the one that doesnt have the quest done ironically.

I would really like to take the 10-15 people in this thread saying that it is too easy to complete because people have done it in a few days after doing the quest line multiple times already and put them in a party and see how they fair with each part of the quest.
You could even have the unfair advantage of going into each instance with 15 people and would probably still have trouble getting past each phase in the time frame you are saying these people have done it in.

No that isn't what he said at all. Try again.

Nero, you need to do some research buddy. You talk about strawman arguments and act like you know all this stuff first-hand. The reality is you don't. There are many metagame factors you just completely ignore that hinder the relic quest progress, in addition to the, admittedly, few in-game roadblocks.
Before posting it's best to take a look around. Your opinions, and those of some others as well, are coming from a very narrow camp. It's apparent your thoughts on things are based simply on what you see on your server and not the game at large. Is that constructive enough for you now? I hope so.

This is the worst part. Some people take a long to time to recover from Hamlet Farm Mode. Relying on other people not to suck or even show up is the biggest obstacle.Nero, you need to do some research buddy. One thing I'm really hoping for is a quest to gain access to Artifact Armor 6 Piece BonusSE made relics available very early on in FFXI's lifecycle in 2003. They were the top weapons until 2010 when abyssea came out and gave us Empyrean weapons some of which were better then relics.
Relics created an artificial ceiling on weapons in FFXI in that no weapon released in that 10 year time span could be better then a relic or have higher damage on it.
Now we have FFXIV they released relics early on as well. Are we going to see a repeat of what happened in FFXI where every new weapon that comes out has to be worse then relics? Or will we actually see them come out with new weapons that are better then relics?
AF Armor + Relic and a bonus from each piece for having all 6 pieces.
(Holy Shield - Results Pending)
I think if they implement this type of evolution to the Relic Gear it would keep things pretty balanced.
My example being:
- SE releases stronger Primals for weapons etc. The weapons can be greater or equal to Relic Weapons for the average player stat for stat.
- Relic Weapons in conjunction with AF Armor will be much stronger than Primal Weapons and Darklight Armor.
- 5 Difficult Solo Quests to upgrade AF Armor to Bonus Set Status.
***At the same level cap, it's possible to increase the effectiveness of the Relics, without making a "Barrier" for normal weapons to reach. New Primal Weapons can be just as powerful.
***Example of Set Bonus? - Just similar to what we have now really...
- Ring of Talons - adds a "Chance to inflict burn DOT effect on enemies"
- Disembowel - adds "Makes Disembowel a Three-Fold attack" (greater chance to paralyze)
- Increase Crit Rate by 100
Sorry if this idea/discussion has been already done on this post. Only read the first couple pages about how this Quest is EasyMode. Then this last page was still discussing how it's EasyMode, so I assume the middle is the same?

would have to be some sort of mega bonus to make up for most af gear being completely sub-par to most other gear. I dont desire a set bonus for it but from what im hearing there will be vanity slots so you can were it if you want and get better stats from other gear. This is the worst part. Some people take a long to time to recover from Hamlet Farm Mode. Relying on other people not to suck or even show up is the biggest obstacle.

Sub par in that you can't meld the base stats and such to it. But as a set bonus, "anything" can be added. Not to mention "the effectiveness of base stats is being adjusted for ARR"
In context what I mean is:
- 6 Piece Bonus would require the Relic Weapon
- Without directly upgrading the Relic Weapon, through use of the AF gear, you limit the issues that having to balance content based on a super powerful weapon has on future gear for people without Relic Weapons.
I was thinking more along the lines of, wear the AF armor for the amazing Gear set Bonus, and have the DL armor for Vanity. Or Pink Mage gear, or whatever
FYI, WWII was super easy to winIt is like saying noone is allowed to comment about WWII, because they did not experience it.

Beside that, if you think i base my Comments on things i see just on my Server, you are totally wrong. Comments coming from a Narrow Camp and you base that on what? 3% of the Playerbase use that Forum and now you are telling me something about "and not the game at large."?
My Statement was.. i will just repeat it for you:
Well, i am basing my Comment's on certain Aspect's, which includes the insane short Timeframes. I never said everyone and their mom is able to do it. Its about comparing FFXI Relic and FFXIV Relic and like i said, FFXIV Relic are more like FFXI AF-Weapons, time-wise. While Legendary Weapon i.e. Excalibur, will be more like what FFXI Relic were; Rare to have.
People alike you running around and pointing a finger and say i am wrong, because i did not have achieved a certain aspect of the game, is just a really cheap way of telling me that you dont actually have arguements, which would disprove my point.
