You know what assumptions do? They make an ass out of you and me. Make no assumptions, especially when dealing with technical details.Learn it? <_<

Where are the current Servers? Correct, in Japan. Did anyone say they would move it? Noone did. So as long as SE dont say, that servers will be moved, we can assume they will stay there. And i also said above:

Not that SE would explain every single Detail on their technical Plans to us, but i also think they would tell us if they plan to move the current existing server.
Speaking of deductive reasoning. Using Theories about Servers will be regional or segrated, without knowing if they are moving or not, is the same no? Why would you assume they would move in first place? But yeah, it is an assumption. Like it or not, assuming SE will move them is actually an assumption too, which is actually more expensive for the Company. So SE would need a good reason to do it.
Something i would like to add:
Most people obviously dont think about the cost of moving a Server. So why would SE move the Server, if they could save the Money and buy them in the Region of the Data-Center? It is not like a Game-Server is something you could carry around like a PC.
To give People an Idea. So it is more reasonable to let the current Server's stay in Japan instead of moving them, since the cost-factor would be hilarious to move the around the whole Globe. Like it or not, guessing around that SE would actually move them in first place is an assumption too. And also, since it would be expensive to do it, SE would need a really good reason to do it.

They don't have to physically move the server to move the world. They can just transfer the data. Isn't that what today's final save is for?

Simple: Because moving it ( physically or digital ) = Cost for the Company. How does that not make sense?
COULD.. this is the point. What people do in this Thread; They assume right away that the current Server/data will be moved. Moving it, costs money and it does not matter if you "just" do it the digital way or actually physically move the server. And assumptions again about the way how they would do it. SE did not say a single word that they would move currently existing servers, that is what i go with until SE says something about it. There is such no way to assume that the Servers/Data will be moved back and forth, without having a reason to do it.
I dont say it is impossible. I allready stated that SE could do it, but why would they?

The better question is why wouldn't they? Or really, why would they create data centers in the US and EU to fix a problem the current player base complains about, but turn around and not let us transfer to the new data centers?Simple: Because moving it ( physically or digital ) = Cost for the Company. How does that not make sense?

TBH, the only question in my mind is; which worlds will be located in which region?

You are assuming they won't and then complain other people are assuming they will? :/Simple: Because moving it ( physically or digital ) = Cost for the Company. How does that not make sense?

Moving data digitally does not cost a lot, companies do it all the time. Data from all over gets moved around, we're not in the stone age, moving the contents of character data is not like going to the moon...
Like Molly stated, why would they make so much effort to make data centers if only the new people get access to that?
The thing is you're getting so angry about "until SE says something", They have NOT said they will NOT move the servers. YOU are assuming this. Just like we are assuming they WILL, we "think" that, just like you "think" they wont.
Don't complain about others thinking something and assuming something when you're doing the exact same thing yourself. And Se have not mentioned anything regarding existing characters, nor for or against the argument.

This makes no sense? Why would you assume because the server is a big ass machine in Japan that it will stay in Japan and that the server itself has anything to do with it?Not that SE would explain every single Detail on their technical Plans to us, but i also think they would tell us if they plan to move the current existing server.

They can easily deliver the data themselves or send it ya know by digital means. You dont need to take the hardware. They do have a couple of months until we need our data back.
They will likely use a branded data center like Sony and thus you wouldn't move hardware, sony has the hardware, all they need is the digital data which can be sent over by easier means in several different ways.
