Regional Segregation

It doesnt matter if the server is labelled regional, the fact that X server is for US and Y Server is for JP will mean more US will go to X and more JP will go to Y.

Yes, "more" players will go to the Server labeled as in their native country, but that doesn't mean the populations will become segregated. There will be more Americans on a NA server, there will be more Europeans on an EU server and there will be more Japanese on a Japanese server, but the fact that this thread even exists, and that it exists on every regions forums, is proof enough that the population will not become segregated.

People who do not want to be segregated will not be. People who want to play with foreign players will more than likely have a much larger amount of interactions if they are the definitive minority. This kind of setup is only going to benefit the people who actually want to play without people outside their region.

lol, so many people think X is better than Y culturally. Silly Americans saying 'Merica is number one. And crazy Japanese lovers who think the best products come from only Japan (Japanese lover comment is more common then usual on these forums - but it is to be expected as we are playing a Japanese game lol).

Crap is everywhere.

why I will miss regionles servers:
- Can join a party where no one will talk, silence can be great sometimes
- Funny conversations off of screwing each others languages up and using google translate
- Playing at retarded hours and still having a player base

Why I wont:
- Server lag is real (unfortunately there will still be some on a regional server, and personal connection issues - even then though there will be a small but noticeable difference if our (NA) servers are any good).

(Being denied party based on language could be put here, but there is also being denied party based on certain LS/gears - there is a "little" bit of logic in the choice (You dont do Nael hard mode with a group that either doesnt get it or cant understand the person who does get it)).

Well... they never said they were moving the existing servers anywhere, nor that they were all staying in Japan.

- NEW Servers will be the ones which are located in regional Data-Center ( Japan, Europe or North America ).
- OLD Servers will be still in Japan, they are not going anywhere.

I would also really like a source for this as I do not remember at all them saying current servers will only be Japan (as these are the only ones us current players can move between). Would seem very unfair.

This was my understanding as well. We currently have no idea what's happening with the worlds we're playing on now. If they're moving or not, we have no idea. SE has stayed quiet on the subject afaik. I've been patiently waiting on specifics for months, because I need to get info out to my LS as soon as we know what's going to happen with the regional data centers.

If you use a little bit of deductive reasoning, how much sense does it make for current players to only transfer between servers already in Japan when regional servers are going to be available at the launch of ARR?

I dont know much about what is going on, but I did notice that your first statement is an argument from ignorance. Also, while you pointed out that "assuming" is not a viable source of information; your second statement is an assumption based on logic, but still just an assumption. So in other words, you are speculating just as much as the person you are criticizing. If you you have any evidence to support your claims, then pls post it. Till then, this is all just an assumption.
