    Let me bring a little LOGIC into this conversation.

    Here's the simpleton idiot argument:

    "It's Alpha, so obviously it isn't finished yet"

    Here's my logical response to that unfinished thought process:

    "Exactly. It's Alpha, and it isn't finished yet. Which is exactly why if there is ever a time to give any suggestions or complaints about the quality of animation we are used to, now would be the time to do it."

    The way I see it. Perhaps the physics is turned off for the presentation videos. But again, that crazy logic just keeps nagging at me for some odd reason (damn brain). Why would they present a video marketing to hundreds of potential gamers in various countries and languages with the physics turned off? They are obviously running the game on a decent computer and not the lowest spec one they could find in the office. YoshiP would have mentioned that the physics were turned off at this point anyway. But he hasn't, and this has the community worried. So... just in case they designed it this way permanently (without start/stop animation), let's make sure they hear our voice and let them know we expect nothing less than what we're used to from FFXIV 1.xx if its possible.

    Besides, animation revamping has more to do with battle animations and lag. How would simple moving around the map and a few extra animation cues going to affect battle? Running and battle animations are separate entities and don't affect each other.

    Except you can run during battle which does make the animations a combat consideration. Weapon skill animations and running animations are separate entities and don't affect each other, running animations themselves though are related to battle. They would be entirely separate entities if combat had its own set of completely different running animations though, not an awful fix though it would require more work.

    Guild Wars 2 has absolutely no problem with start/stop animations and battle. Zero problems. So it is possible to have them in there, just in case you didn't know. I'm not comparing GW2 animation to FFXIV for the record, I'm just saying the mechanics are possible and have recently been done.

    Exactly.

    And my thought exactly before even making this thread.

    Let them know we notice, and we value animation.

    Animation looking like the pre-alpha video = generic korean mmo feel.
