    ....after reading this thread, it almost feels like the people who are calling FFXI easier are the ones that played around the time of ToAU... which, I think, by then FFXI had already passed its peak age. If the JP's actually had access to WoW (as in w/ jp language) i kinda doubt they would have had as hard a time as some pple in the states... asia's obsession with entertainment far exceeds the US in this type of thing.

    Also, while I can't speak for all wow and ffxiv players.. I'm sure most people can play much better when their screen is 3/4ths full of parsers, timers, and other programs that do not come with the game.

    The two companies have different approaches to this, and it affects their design appropriately.
