The game is not a visual novel dispite your delusions. Yes it has a lot of story and dialogue but the bread and butter of any mmo is multilayer gameplay and the game play does not need to cater to people who don't want to try to improve on content that is 3 days old.

You die and try again there shouldn't be an easy mode so people don't have to learn.
You keep insisting I’m twisting your words, but I’m quoting them directly and responding to the logic behind them. You said content shouldn’t be made easier for “hypothetical people,” but those people aren’t hypothetical lol they’re real players in this thread and across the community who’ve expressed struggles with reflex-based mechanics, accessibility barriers, or simply wanting to enjoy the story without punishment.

Calling the game “not a visual novel” while admitting it has “a lot of story and dialogue” is just playing with words to avoid admitting what the game actually is. FFXIV is a visual novel for many players. The MSQ is mandatory. You can’t skip it. You literally have to read through hours of dialogue to progress. That’s not a delusion it’s the design of the game.

And saying “normal dungeons are the easiest content” doesn’t mean they’re easy for everyone. They’re easy for you. In the same vein, they can be hard for others. That’s the whole point of accessibility—not to remove challenge, but to offer options for different kinds of players. You don’t lose anything if someone else has a safety net. You still get your challenge, your stakes, your gameplay.

If you believe MMOs should only cater to people who “want to improve,” then you’re advocating for exclusion. That’s not a community its gate keeping. And frankly, you’re the one who seems to be struggling with the idea that a game can be both challenging and inclusive. If people want to do hard content, sure they’ll need to improve. But we’re talking about players who may only play this game for the story. And they’re just as valid as anyone.
