What if they made it so if you die trusts fight on until they wipe? With the option to return early if needed.

That way even if you do die with trusts you still get a chance to observe the fight and try to figure out what you were missing?

Biggest problem with that would be it’s kinda impossible for trusts to die unless you go out of your way to do it yourself lol (I.E stacking a spread aoe on them). So it’d basically just end up with every boss fight being a ‘tank solo’ one lol.

I guess they feel that giving trusts the ability to Raise would balance things too much away from party content. I’m not sure whether that would ever actually be the case because, you know, they don’t (can’t?) AoE lol, and so it takes ages to do anything.
Also you can’t drop the healer for faster runs if you do trusts lol (which I hear is a thing these days).

There's no need to reinvent the wheel. The Willful buff already exists. It's been used in the Duty Support trials. Just add it to the Duty Support dungeons?

Some people need help. I don't think it's asking much for that buff from the trust trial runs. It's not like it breaks the game if the player isn't hard stuck on a fight.

All I see is a slippery slope. Spare the rod, spoil the child.

I REALLY hate the slippery slope argument because it can go both ways but this is what I've been thinking. Like yeah trusts can be easier and allow you to rez o have the power of echo or whatever but then eventually people are gonna go "Well why should I be punished with not interacting with people in an MMO just because I want things to be easy? Why should I be relegated to doing trusts and play like a single player game? Make multiplayer content easier so I can participate!"

Mmm… I want to add my two cents so please bear with my broken English:
I’m reading this thread and thinking about the fact that the plyayer’s mindset changed through the years. (I’m only speaking about what I saw on Phoenix, I never played on another world)

I’ve been playing FFXIV for almost a decade now (March 2016). (On another character -this one is, in perspective, quite new).

Back then, at least on Phoenix, when we started a dungeon with a sprout or a first timer, it was a habit to ask them if they wanted some advice about the dungeon’s mechanisms or if they wanted to discover those by themselves.
In short, we talked to each other’s. (In my FC, it was a habit, well before we had the Burger King crown next to our name plate. We just genuinely wanted to help new players.)

This time is over. Now, people barely talk, let’s not speak about demanding/offering help. (SE politics is partially responsible for this, it has become nearly impossible to give someone some advice…)

I’m 42, my eyesight is not as good as it was when I was 33 and I play less because of IRL stuff like family and work, so I’m a little rusty, but I quite liked the new dungeon and cleared it with 4 deaths (two on the second boss and two on the last one), so I’m satisfied for now.
As many people said here, dying it’s part of the process to learn a fight.
But it also was a part of the process to be able to ask for help or advice and not just watch a video.

In short, if you are on Phoenix or Light in general, feel free to reach me in game, I’ll be glad to help or even struggle together with you, because I’m getting myself back on track. There’s no shame dying while trying to learn/improve.

As the years go by this gets truer and truer, folks dont talk as much as they used to back in the old days when it comes to asking for help or partying up for content (granted we didnt have a proper functioning DF or PF back then either)

tbf mechanics changed. there is barely anything left to explain. some say this is good. i say its bad.... because almost all mechanics are the same just in another colour

yes indeed i do blame the game for silent groups. mostly at least.

Fair point ! the old mechanics were removed, mostly for the benefit of NPC system. I miss old strats like the snowballs in Snowcloak, and so on... (there is too many examples to bring on and tbh, I don't think I'm able to quote the dungeon's names in English, even the mecanics names since I play in French).
At least, we can still warn newcomers about certains tells, like some big cleaves, etc, so they can look for them and prepare to move accordingly.

The content also requires less team interaction. Back then you could ask whether or not you wanted to clear side rooms or get more mobs for optional xp or rewards. You could talk and give advice on how to better tank or position mobs or bosses, or just about how to deal with specific things in general.
All of this has been essentially been axed out of the game, and since everything has turned into individual binary checks everywhere, then there is no reason to interact anymore.
Add this to the fact that when people reached a new low in EW with how "boring" dungeons turned out to be, it made people want to get out of there even faster and didn't exactly push them to actually talk. Or how the content has been macdonaldized: people queue up after work like they'd order a fast food, and they don't even do it for the quality of the food either.
