You're right that FF14 is no longer right for me, but you are wrong about my enjoyment of MMOs.

I used to play this game with other people. They have all left. The way FF14 has changed in its emphasis on content and combat design means that I no longer enjoy it, thus I too am leaving.

However, I get on just fine with the MMO genre. I am currently enjoying one I have played for many years.

If anything, the issue is that FF14 has always been an outlier in the MMO field. It is a nostalgia-fest for those who have played the (mostly) single-player games in the FF series. Perhaps because of this, it frequently seems to be skating by on past laurels ("oh look! it's Prishe! everybody clap and get teary-eyed") at the expense of developing original, interesting content.

This laziness extends to refusing to implement difficulty options which are industry standard for MMOs. Although it's clear from these boards that offering such an option would enrage those that it does not impact, for reasons I will never fathom.

Oh em gee! Thank the gods you're here! You've solved it!

Clearly what is going on here is that veteran gamers have decided to attempt to solve mechanics by NOT THINKING.

I wonder if this is because of all the creeps who keep telling us MSQ dungeons are brain dead? Thanks for the help!
