I would like options to wear male (or unisex if we get that) because I do not like some of the immodest items.

I understand that you're very very upset, but pushing your emotions aside-I genuinely don't know what you're talking about. I played female for years (I am also a woman irl), and never had any issues. Is there a specific dress you're talking about? What specific outfits do you mean?To this day i still hate how they give in... we get less gear as "why bother makin two if we have to make it for both genders, making 4 actually... just make one unisex" and it still looks horrible when males were dresses. No if you want to wear a dress, go play a f###### female...

Technically tycoon tights aren't gender locked but the problem is that they have different look between male and female characters, which is something they really need to stop doing and make separate versions of those cosmetics with different look between male and female chracters to let us any version we want.
I was thinking "ahh another of these posts" and I came in anyway and I immediately AGREED.
Let male characters be lewd and female characters be modest if the players want to.
Release BOTH versions for the players to choose.
It's literally the "male armour vs female armour" meme in this case.
Shout out to the absolutely goofy-looking Rathalos armor.
That said, the amount of thinly veiled heteronormativity and sexism that drips off of the posts of people going "if you wanna wear a dress, play a female character" as well as using female as a noun unironically is... a choice.

I always find it funny when people cry about gender nonconformity because men wore skirts and dresses (more or less) for most of human history. Men wore high heels, wigs and makeup. Heck, the clergy of many cultures still wear more or less frilly nightgowns to religious services.waaaaah, waaaaaaaaah, why can't i cry about how objectionable being forced to witness gender nonconformity is and how men aren't allowed to look like men anymore without being called a bigot : (((( those totally aren't things every garden variety bigot gets mad at : ((((((
-Was this in response to my question? If so, all of those came out years before unisex was a thing in FFXIV.
Therefore, them being designed in the way that they were had nothing to do with allowing them to become unisex, as they were designed before they were unisex. This argument too, fails. Sigh.
