THIS
-crafted gear has to go except as BiS for ultimate
-the time gating of gear for EX and savage earned by playing the casual game PROPERLY, has to go. (hunts trains aren't meant to be. Treasure maps aren't meant to be spammed ad-nauseam)
-the sprint to complete MSQ, casual, to start Savage, has to go.
* 1 Month for MSQ (feel free to drop ultimate now)
* THEN 1 month 2 Exs,
* THEN 1 month Normals,
* THEN Savage. Start dropping tribe quests now.
(If hardcore don't like it, feel free to play other games until your Ex or savage drops, or skim read MSQ skipping every yellow quest the way you always do and get working on that ultimate)
-crafted gear is now only useful for people who don't want to properly enjoy the casual game, or want to get straight into that Savage.
-allow housing to be put into storage and now people can unsub when the content coming out exceeds their skill interest.
But you will NEVER do this SE. Which is why your player base will continue to eat each other even if you do add more casual content.
People don't change, companies are people. WoW changed because the influence of key people at Activision changed. However, JP is inately more conservative even if influence shifts.
It needs support to change from the playerbase too, but it won't ever get that because the playerbase now = just RP (not bothered), and High End (actively selfishly don't want change, and don't want casuals under their feet in their content)
The game is doomed.
Feel free to hope, but would you be happy/confident betting any significant amount of money in its favour?
Thought not.

I disagree strongly with this.
In my circles, the release of Cosmic Exploration and now Occult Crescent were the final two straws.
The former is simply dreadful content. The lack of imagination is staggering and insults the players. Running around clicking on things for 40 minutes is not engaging gameplay; it's giving players the middle finger.
Occult Crescent simply moves DDR boss fights from an indoor arena to the open world, with the capstone content being once again designed for savage raiders. For those of us who do not run anything beyond normal content, we have received the message loud and clear. This game is no longer for us.
So you're likely correct that many players left soon after the launch of DT, but the content released over the last couple of months has, in my experience, produced a second wave of players who feel betrayed.
Even though the FFXI raid might be my favorite content in the game, I'm feeling more and more like Dawntrail is the worst expansion.
I've pretty much flipped on it completely. I was excited for it and enjoying it at first, although not particularly thrilled about atma. But now I don't even want to play. Like I log in and go there and do a couple CEs and just hate it, and then I log out and do something else. It's annoying because I don't even have all the jobs unlocked and I don't want to be gimped for the next zone.
I disagree I think they need to be MORE cookie cutter, because everything new or different is failing hard. The raids and alliance raid are good and that's the most cookie cutter content there is, and the MSQ is getting a little better in the patches. The most new and different thing they've done is Chaotic, which might be the single worst piece of content they've ever added to the game. And Occult Crescent would probably be better if it was just a copy and paste of Bozja into a new map with less dirt and craters.
What are you saying Jeeqbit???
This is just disappointing, and surprising.
You met lots of happy people doing EX, Chaotic, and Savage?
Yeah there isn't an unhappy casual who would disagree that High End players have been having a great time!
And you say you've met these people on voice in discord?
I'm not saying it's been deliberate but I' ve always got the impression you were this PF lone wolf proving it is possible just to play the game casually.
I now suspect that actually, your in a savage FC, and you do all your content in a partial static over voice, minimum. If not mostly near full static.
Probably using ACT to boot.
As for 'meeting' people in OC, sorry no.
I know I've been playing enough OC and I've 'met' noone.
No one says hi. No one talks. No one discusses.
I've been doing my damndest to be sociable and say hi.
You don't 'meet' anyone in OC. Is this another discord thing? Working contacts for Forked?
I'm not saying don't speak up with your perspective, but it feels like your addressing a point that your missing with this one.
People are exhausted from having a miserable time. Getting their hopes up, and then having then dashed.
I and many people thought we were wanted by SE and our fellow players. We thought we were friends. Almost a family.
Then we find out that if we had any complaints about the casual game we were supposed to play Ex and savage, or literally, and in no uncertain terms fck off or shut up and keep away from them. Dont discuss our casual game because they are enjoying their high end game.
It's been exhausting making the effort to try and find a way back in, 'give this new chaotic a go' etc, 'wait for OC itc will be like bozja and castrum', then we get no Castrum.
I'm not sure we will have anymore interactions Jeeq because with this OC, I'm not even interested in 8.0 anymore, but I would be viewing all further interactions as though I'm speaking to someone who does all their content with partial savage statics, and is more than happy to deal with the ACT logging discussions that come up over discord, or doesn't have to worry about not being up to scratch.
For what it's worth it's a shame region travel isn't a thing, as I would have loved to try and meet you and let you show me what I' ve been wrong with PFs that have made them so unfun.
Correct. When I entered Chaotic, clearly everyone in there was having fun because we were finally in large scale content again after so much solo content in Endwalker.
In the Extreme, I was laughing and joking with the people I met. They all seemed so cheerful, and a rather good amount of times they dropped a discord link and I could hear that they enjoyed the content and were having a good time together.
The same was really the case in Savage. They were all quite upbeat and excited to get their clear, and often I was helping them out (joining progression-to-clear parties). They really didn't seem all negative about it like you see on the forums, and seemed to enjoy the high-end content in this game.
I do everything in PF, especially since I love meeting new people every day. That's actually one of the things I love about MMORPGs. Not just talking to the same people always. PUGs are really one of the big joys of this genre, for me personally.I now suspect that actually, your in a savage FC, and you do all your content in a partial static over voice, minimum. If not mostly near full static.
I'm not currently in a static and a lot of my FC doesn't even raid. Those that do are in their own statics mostly and just boast "I got my clear!" etc. I think there is 1 or 2 statics that formed out of the FC (it's a very large FC after all), but I only use it for socializing.
You can say that in a general sense about players in general. You can't just throw that around and say that to specific people though. It devalues all the work they put in if they don't and is rude. I believe in not using such things because it trains your muscle memory and raid awareness, an important skill that makes you more observant and able to handle unusual mechanics better. I said when the content released that I got around 9 vuln stacks. I explained in my earlier post that after 2 weeks, I have enjoyed learning the mechanics and had finally about got all of them, which probably wouldn't be a thing if your comment was true since they cause you to not need to learn them. For what it's worth, I use an echo macro to remember the Bird CE order (+, O and Knockback macros).Probably using ... to boot.
Jokes in shout. Talking in party chat. All the chatter about it in social channels such as linkshells, FC, discords, etc. It can be more sociable when the instance locks since you have to work harder to rez each other and defeat bosses in a single party. In any case, there's ample time for them to chat while dead, which happens pretty frequently to many players. You don't 'meet' anyone in OC. Is this another discord thing?
Telling people to suck it up and just do the old treadmill, Hildibrand that was… 30 minutes at the start and one of the most boring beasttribes with three quests a day while high end raiders didn’t go even one patch (and with the field zone even got one more raid) without content for them, is a wild take ngl.
Even the most sweaty hardcore raiders and content creators like Xenos and Arthas agree that they got it good in content in DT and that all others were on the back burner until now.
I usually enjoy your comments because they are thought out and nuanced Jeeqbit but this one here I really have to disagree because that reads like pure defending for the sake of it.
I still enjoy the game enough, loved the 7.2 story after what came before and like the new field zone but I’ll be honest, Forked tower really damped my motivation and even I can see that the field zone has much to improve.
I wait till 7.3 if they tank the story or can keep up. If that stupid cat is pushed into the spotlight again then I am out for the rest of DT.
Other than that I don’t know honestly.
The deep dungeon has to be good after what EO was for example.
At some points it seems that they either have lost passion outside a few members (you can see the “love” still in the music, fights and a few gear pieces and graphic highlights), have no idea what they want themselves or have delegated the newer devs to this game while all others do other things.
