Don't sweat little things and have fun!
If you can't make even the slightest bit of progress towards your personal goal no matter how much time you invest, you are wasting it.
I spent an hour and a half running around OC doing as many FATEs and CEs as possible - not easy, because I didn't jump in and max out on day one, so I don't have the riding map and can't barely get to FATEs before they're over. Zero progress.

[ ]LOST [ ]NOT LOST [X]RAGING OVER DEMIATMA RNG
"There is no hope in stubbornly clinging to the past. It is our duty to face the future and march onward, not retreat inward." -Sovetsky Soyuz, Azur Lane: Snowrealm Peregrination
Ya know, it find it funny. Everyone was complaining about how easy the last set of relics were to get. And the dev team said ok bet hold my beer and the reaction is glorious.

Sight... How many do we have to explain to you the difference between rng grind and non rng grind, and how the first one often feels like wasting your time, while the other feels like you progress toward your goal. Atmas was the one things EVERYONE agreed it was too much and nobody wanted another ARR style relic grind. Then then proceeded to do exactly like that.
For a long time, I the same opinion about the timeworn grind. Until I did step in DRN runs... And DRN farm is one of my best farm memory in this game. Most runs last for 20/25 min for a 8 man team if you do/join a PF, there is nearly always an experienced player to explain to you which which essences to use for your class if you don't know (just ask during the mandatory 8 min wait. I would advice you to take the first step, it's really a fun content.I thought the Timeworn Artifacts grind in Shadowbringers was horrible, but this new relic grind has me blocked on step one. At least for me, it actually puts Timeworns to shame. I've done hundreds of FATEs in various DT zones with my FC and I have absolutely no demi-materias to show for all the sweat and effort. I can't handle this horribly low drop rate. Everyone else has several. I haven't been graced with a single one.

Emphasis "should be". But - speaking from my own experience only - it's not.To be fair, if the drop rate is indeed lower from FATEs than from CEs as many (including myself) believe, then that is a good thing for the following reason:
It was more efficient to farm outside Bozja than in Bozja, back in Shadowbringers.
The new content, Occult Crescent, should absolutely be the best way to farm it. Old content should be an option for people who prefer that or do not like Field Operations, but it should be slower/less efficient, so that the new content has value.
I've tried BOTH methods of obtaining Atma. Neither was successful and I don't feel even remotely motivated to keep wasting my time with this pointlessness.
I started in 2020, so I've never grinded out a relic before that wasn't the Manderville set. That said, these really don't seem that bad at all. After getting about half from OC I just FATE grinded with PF for specific colors and got them all by the end of day 3.
It seems people here really don't like the RNG aspect of it, which I guess I can understand, but it really doesn't seem that bad. Sometimes tedious, yes, but... it's a relic weapon. You don't need to get it by the first week.
Try again Sport that is you being disingenuous with your responses, mainly to push the false narrative that folks are complaining about ether OC or the Relic Grind, or to get it done quick The facts are no one is complaining about any of that the only complaints are over the RNG of the drop rates of the Demiatma. If I get 3 I would say it's just unusual luck, but when I've now got 9 from 38 CEs over a few days it seems pretty consistently a good source of Atma. It's not about ego it's about the fact that, consistently, every single day, the RNG does not feel as bad as it does with minions in dungeons which virtually never drop.
Not necessarily. It's large scale, but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. Just for a lot of people.
In case you mean me, I've never once said that.
100% of my responses are honest and genuine.
Then the argument becomes "it's only been a few days; you have a few months before the next relic step and you will get other things in the process such as Knowledge, Phantom Levels, Coins, Gear or Bicolor Vouchers, and by the time you've done all that you will definitely have plenty of Atma".
Minion/mount bad luck = buy it from market board, Extreme mount bad luck = buy it for 50-99 totems, Savage bad luck = unsync it later when it's easy, Triple Triad RNG = unsync it later when it's quick/easy, fight droprates were nerfed eventually, FATE bad luck = adjust mindset that it will take more than the first few days to get through the content
Despite having hours and hours, I've only ever done this content at the pace a busy person would: a single 3-hour session, once or twice a week. And the RNG has never been a problem despite this. Maybe because of this. Because I play it so casually, that I do not burn myself out like everyone that complains is doing, who wants to get it all done in the first few days. Maybe if you don't feel like you have to do it all in the first few days then you won't feel this way.
Then I propose grinding for just 1 or 2 hours a week - regardless of if you get a drop. Then it's super casual and chill and you don't go for too long.
It's quite nice, as a busy person, to log into the game and just play it for an hour or two and make progress towards something.
The problem comes when a busy person acts like someone who is not busy and spends 10 hours getting burned out on it because they are determined to do it all day1.

The worst part about the grind is that the incentive structure is totally rigged. What is the incentive to do all the grinding aside from the relics? And you need that incentive to be able to actually do that grind cause the atma drop rates are abysmal. You can not level jobs in there, you can not make gil in there, you can't use any of the gear outside, you can't do forked cause you can not even get into the bloody raid. Literally the only reason to do any of it is a few pieces of glam and a mount which will get you nowhere near the amount of grinding required for a single relic let alone multiple.
Stop with the ' we actually got what we wanted' meme. They did not listen to ANY of that. They literally did not even built on what was good about Bozja, they just went backwards to Eureka jank.
