That raid tier was notorious for RDMs not even being able to do much to help salvage pulls.
I dunno, dude, I've slept since then. I'm also a tank. I can get clipped by something here and there and not die. Tank priv is a thing, even in Savage, unless it's something like P10S poison. But the idea remains that when you are progging, if you have anyone more concerned about their numbers on a website than doing what they can to help the party see the next mechanic, it's going to be detrimental to your progress.

You can but the rest of the party can't.

Ironically, you probably could have solved this problem via FFLogs by checking their logs to see if they were letting people die to damage when you were recruiting them.

No, I'm saying it would be worse if Tomestone was less reliable.

LOL that does not work when I joined a static that were friends and raided together previously. The point, again, is that fflogs colors and numbers will not tell you if someone is going to be a reliable party member or not. Even if you wanted to analyze fights like you're talking about, the data can't tell you if it was due to greed or inexperience or even something agreed upon by the party.

Using only statistics from fflogs to determine how a fight went and nothing else is a strange take, though.

Why are you only looking at colours and numbers?

If you're looking at a healer's first clear logs and people are dying to damage, there's a problem. It doesn't really matter if the problem is inexperience or greed.

In what sense? There aren't many things that it can't tell you.

Now you're just being deliberately obtuse. This whole thread is because as a community that's what the community looks at and finds important and will judge others using and you're sticking your head in the sand if you think it doesn't happen. That's why some of us are making the argument that anonymized data can be just as useful for analysis and that while the site is a useful tool, the current iteration can be used for negative things.

No, I'm explaining how you can use the tool in a more helpful manner that would actually provide some kind of value for you.

Log data being hidden by default would have consequences in other areas and "lol, you have grey parses" would just turn into "lol, your logs are hidden". Elitism will exist with or without FFLogs. "Skip soar or disband".

TaleraRistain's reply that you replied to in literally the same post as mine pretty much sums it up. Big numbers doesn't always = god tier player.

Stop looking at damage numbers and parse percentiles.

And this is only scratching the surface of the information that you're able to see. You can get a pretty good idea of how well someone plays via logs. There are other important factors like their attitude and consistency that you won't know until you trial them, but that's why you trial them.
