Hopefully, it's not a case of Square's seeming inability to understand what their English-speaking customers want. We say, "we want healers to contribute to the party's success." and Square responds with "We hear your complaints that healing is too complex..."It's funny, some of us asked for SB design back and with M3S we got one aspect of it: Warrior being able to Invuln 3 out of the 5 Tankbusters in the fight (leaving one to be invulned by the other tank, and one to be shared)
Not exactly the aspect of SB design I was hoping for, but still funny to note

I firmly believe that SE is aware of the situation, and right now, they intend on making changes in 8.0, but how much they make will diminish the closer we get to 8.0 because its a political hand grenade that they dont want to be stuck holding.

Well, They've got to listen at some point, I guess. people complained in Shadowbringers, and Square went "Don't worry, we listened. Have Energy Drain back. Fixed, right?"
Then when that didn't fix it, they said "The new healer in Endwalker is going to be more DPS focused. Sound great?" and Sage ended up being a Scholar side-grade with an extra damage button to hit once every 40 seconds.
Then when that did exactly what you would expect it did, Yoshida Antoinette decided to help us plebians with his godly wisdom of "Let them eat Ultimates". And when Healers were notably absent in Abyssos (likely because players of the shiny new sage job finally got bored), we got the ever-iconic "Please just play healer again."
And when Dawntrail's media tour happened, the first dungeon was beaten by a healerless group blind and not even trying to play perfectly, and now here we are. The green river running deep all the way from Valigarmanda to Eutrope.
Can't wait for another two+ years to finally enjoy my favorite MMO role again. Surely they won't just ignore it so they can hype us up before 8.0 releases by saying "we're going to be adding a new healer in 9.0 which will be a lot better, and will be building up the other healers to meet the new one. Please look forward to it."

Honestly, I don't see how they can make healing as a role any easier aside from automating the entire thing.

Well, let's phrase that another way. Let's say - what if tanks also got their own little pet that took care of all their own personal mitigation, so they wouldn't need to worry their heads about more than being a blue DPS and their damage buffs? Would tanks find that acceptable?...I honestly wouldn't put it past them to think about giving every healer a "pet" like Scholar, put most of their healing output into said pet, and gutted most of the healing spells/skills to give healers more DPS and buffing abilities.
The question is though, if healing *did* become a largely automated process, and job interaction was about providing engaging damage and active support, would anyone find that acceptable?
Honestly that's not too far off with how things currently are. Tank mitigations are too strong. You have more than enough CDs and resources for bosses, even in Savage and Ultimate. I'm never feeling like I have to juggle what's going on. And traditional tank responsibilities like kiting bosses or repositioning mobs is next to minimal as so many bosses are constantly repositioning themselves or just sit static in the middle of the room for the entire fight. The only "tough" thing about tanking is that TBs often coincide with a 1m burst so remember to pop mitigations a couple of GCDs early so your 1m burst doesn't drift.Well, let's phrase that another way. not really. I liked the role because I was healing others... not doing it mainly through a "pet"...I honestly wouldn't put it past them to think about giving every healer a "pet" like Scholar, put most of their healing output into said pet, and gutted most of the healing spells/skills to give healers more DPS and buffing abilities.

at that point it isnt exactly a "healing" role anymore

Maybe... if they don't somehow decide that all four should be like that, which is probably something that SE would've cooked up....I honestly wouldn't put it past them to think about giving every healer a "pet" like Scholar, put most of their healing output into said pet, and gutted most of the healing spells/skills to give healers more DPS and buffing abilities.
