    I am impressed at how big of a conversation this has created. Some of the arguments make really well good points. Hopefully they can interpret the feedback in way we can make good middle ground that works for everyone. I don't believe in making the roles very complex purely just for hardcore content, it needs to work for casual content as much as, that bit is crucial for me at least.
    A middle ground wouldn't be that hard to reach either. Just a couple extra DPS spells and maybe a minor bit of interaction like a proc and you're good to go. And anyone not comfortable doing DPS as a healer could just... not use the new buttons.

    You know it occurs to me that the devs already have multiple solutions to the issues in the game. What do I mean?

    Well sage for example. Double eukrasian dyskrasia’s potency and halve its duration. Reduce psyche’s cooldown to 20 seconds, let me store two charges, and reduce its potency to compensate.

    SCH- make baneful impaction a regular spell, make it last 12 seconds, and (if they want to go crazy) make ED free during chain strat.

    WHM- make glare 4 its own button, give me one use of it for every 3 G3 casts, grant me 3 charges upon using presence. While we’re at it give Dia a cast time and throw in thundercloud.

    AST- idfk.

    Do above and make each fight’s damage profile similar to barbarricia’s and everyone wins. The people who like easy content needn’t try harder to do normal. The people who do normal but want it to be more engaging have more to optimize. The people who want healers to heal more have their wish as well.

    Everything I’ve suggested literally already exists in the game’s code. Literally.

    Hello everyone!
    Long time since I've posted here.

    I am a White Mage main and I will not be joining the Healer's Strike!

    My reasons are stated below:

    1) History:

    Since Stormblood Days, there have been EoE (End of Expansion) Time Attack tournaments hosted by several FCs working together from different worlds. The fastest clear times came from One Tank, and three DPS. The healer would be exchanged for a Red Mage.

    2) Perspective:

    In order to run a dungeon with One Tank and Three DPS, the players require skill along with gear that is higher than the typical average found in roulette queues. These runs are the polar opposite of "Minimum iLVL" runs.

    Remember how iLvL works:

    The maximum iLvL of the previous expansion becomes the Minimum iLvL required to attempt the final leveling dungeon of the next expansion. The first two leveling dungeons of a new expansion to players coming out with BiS gear and Max iLvL of the previous expansion are ridiculously easy.

    3) Jumping the Gun

    An entire healer's strike was started due to let me get this right, a person who cleared a Leveling Dungeon, you know... the easiest thing this game has to offer compared to other content...

    ..and yet when an Ultimate Clear came from not using Healers....where was the healers strike for that? Oh right! Its optional content and it's a minority so no strike came. Do you expect a strike to come from the actions of players in Leveling Dungeons?

    I know when I have maximum iLvL for a dungeon along with Food + Potions done right, healers can survive Tank Busters in Leveling Dungeons. Does that Invalidate Tanks? Not really.

    4) DawnTrail

    New Expansion brings back plenty of players who want to play through the story. Plenty of work out there for healers. Enjoy the story and have fun!


    If this was consistent among all content the game has to offer and it being super common to not need healers for anything, then I would complain. Not going to join a strike for something that has existed since Stormblood Days among the Elite Community and their friends in both, Type-0 and Type-1 Speedruns.

    That is not what started the healer strike at all. That was the straw that broke the camel’s proverbial back.

    TLDR: people have been pissed about healer’s ongoing lobotomy since 2019. The seeming absence of meaningful change, evidenced by said dungeon clear, is what caused the strike.

    It's obvious that you didn't read the opening post. Healers have been complaing for years all you have to do is read the threads in the healer sub forum to know that or y'know just read the opening post and the links so kindly provided to you. So no this hasn't started solely because someone cleared a DT dungeon with no healer but that was the straw that broke the camels back. These people are frustrated that years of politle, organised and well thought out feedback has been ignored so they are attempting something new. Please in future actually take the time to understand where someone/people are coming from before offering an opinion.

    Yes. We have heard this logic. Because something bad has been going on for a while, it is ok! Because it is a new expansion and people will still play all roles, there's no reason to try to make the game better. Because gear makes stuff easier, you're going to ignore that tanks are unbalanced. Because end of expansion speedruns and other challenges occur, there's just no other concerns for healers that need to be addressed. And on and on and on. We get it.

    To be honest, I bet the devs have your post up on their wall already. They're probably like " wow, this player literally knows all the stuff we've been telling ourselves the last 6 years!"

    No one wants the difficulty raised to the point where some people can't play. From what I can discern, the general consensus is healers just don't want so much of the game to be mindless.

    The last time I enjoyed AST was the 4.0 era. Healers have had problems for YEARS. How much of a gun should we be jumping, exactly?
