That information is usually available in the game, or from the official manual on the lodestone, or from a competent observation of the game's behaviour. Aside from wikis and youtubers, many journalists now cover this game and its various systems on their websites.

It's just that players are not very good at reading the information available in the game, they are not good at finding the official manuals on the lodestone and they are not good at observing the game the way I would as a veteran player and looking up information online will often just confuse them. Case in point, Active Help explains a lot of things I have to tell new players about on a regular basis.

So yes, a lot of information is on discord servers, but this is just a nice community trying to help people. It's not actually the only way. There is just so much in the game and so much information to consume about it that unless you've played as much I have, you will probably just be confused by it all without something like a discord community for what you're doing.

Because actually developing it takes time. It stands to reason that a large-scale content involves large-scale development.
