Two way street. If the developers don't respect supports enough to provide actual data, sensible justification for design, actual role design leads or legitimize complaints, why should we expect the players who disagree with us inherently to ever do so? FFXIV deserves the Green River, honestly.

Here's the thing. Comments like this - which are quite common throughout this thread - are just you being the one, going over to their (the dev's) table, insulting them, and then acting all confused that they don't listen to you. Not to mention the plethora of people in here that just belittle anyone who dares to raise counter-points. Oh, and for the record, two weeks in a row now that in both DF and the raid series, Tanks have been insta-queues for me while Healers are taking a minute or two.

We don't need to consider the amount of healers during the levelling period, what matters is the amount of people who settle as healer mains and whether that number goes down.

For fourm standards, 400 is huge. It also continues to be the fastest growing thread.

But compared to the playerbase - or even just other online spaces where FFXIV is discussed - it's rather small. This thread has also slowed down considerably as time has gone on.

However small we are, we are much more vocal about what we want, and a vocal minority tends to have their way over a silent majority.

So, you're acknowledging that what you want to do is just screech the loudest so the devs will potentially ruin the game for many other people just to please you? (The good news is the devs seem to be very good at using their own internal metrics to see what said "silent majority" really wants and then going that route.)

Did this 'silent majority' ask for Miasma to be removed from SCH? Or Shadowflare? Did this 'silent majority' ask for Kaiten to be removed from SAM? I don't think they did. Because if they did, then they'd stop being 'silent', surely.

I think it's far more likely that the devs make changes, and 'silent majority' is simply a convenient nebulous amalgam that can be pointed to as the scapegoat for any bad decisions.

But as for goalpost movement, I agree with you. The devs have internal metrics to work off of. Unfortunately for your point, though, said metrics should include things like 'the picture of a JP PF I linked one page ago', which show the terrible lack of healers for high end content. So, if they want to 'see what silent majority really wants and go that route', it looks to me like the 'silent majority' silently decided they didn't feel like healing M4S and so they gotta make some changes to bring them back. And call me cynical, but I don't think 'another OGCD that heals the party for X potency, with a 90s CD' is going to lure people back onto the green

100%. It's also funny because I went to farm Ex1 and as soon as I entered as SCH, someone said: "Wow, you guys do exist." This shortage is crazy, right now.

Yet, we continue to see people come into this thread declaring the strike has failed. It's clear they haven't been paying attention. It doesn't take a Masters degree in data analysis to see people aren't happy with the state of healers in FFXIV.

People keep dismissing that it took forever waiting for a healer in PF back in Abyssos/Anabaseios, well, it doesn't seem to be getting any better in DT.

But I don't expect people to acknowledge it, they'll just pull up the same old argument of:
