Balance of the game should be that every DPS job no matter the role is within a couple of percent between each other. Forcing these large gaps depending on how the balance team subjectively views how hard they are or how much utility they have just drives people away from the class that they actually enjoy and want to play.
Players need to put their ego aside and the excuse that "I'm playing the harder job so I should do way more DPS" away, its just toxic and we end up with situations like how SMN and the physical ranged will end up being 12-15% behind BLM, PCT and all of the melee DPS.
If you're a competent player you're going to be able to keep near 100% uptime along with a near perfect rotation and do around the same damage across the jobs if they are close to evenly balanced so why does it matter how hard you perceive them to be if you're really THAT good at the game.
