I had a tank that got up to seven vuln stacks in a dungeon earlier but I was still able to keep them alive with minimal effort, even through the busters.
I feel like the bosses could be a touch rougher on them if that's allowed to be the case.

How productive does that make blanket complaints about other's complaints (no matter how reasonable), then?
Discourse with, to your mind, little value is one thing. Going out of one's way to shut that discourse down, though, is inherently all the less valueable, no? (Outside of schadenfreude / joys of trolling, of course.)
That was me. Why you kept that comment is beyond me, but I just got tired of going back and forth with you. We had only healers and SMN and later Red Mage as our only rezzers since release. The fan base is fine. You are creating problems that do not exist and solutions that aren't necessary.
As an aside, you later said my comment was moderated - no, I deleted it as I was just tired of the pointlessness.

It's almost as if MNK and BLM click better for different types of people, and also that some people have the skill level or willingness to practice to actually master the job. This one here definitely confuses me the most.
Like, even putting aside my chronic lack of desire to tank/heal in PVE player group content no matter how "non-anxious" they make the roles, I will also say I was not the biggest fan of MNK & BLM prior to Dawntrail because I just couldn't keep track of how all their mechanics work and found them complicated to play with no real satisfaction even when I accidentally did it correctly once or twice. To hear people say it, both of them were "dumbed down" to make them more appealing to people like me and having played them both... yeah, still not liking them, and I actually feel *more* overwhelmed because now I have even *more* Job gauge things to keep track of. (And I'm not the only non-MNK & BLM main that went right back to not wanting to main them.)
So you have some prior fans of the jobs that don't like the changes, you have some of the ever elusive "new" fans of the jobs not caring about the changes, so then... WHY CHANGE ANYTHING?
God forbid you can't do a job rotation perfectly on the first try and actually need to practice at it for a while to become good at it.

Perhaps because it was revealing that a key argument the "strike" supporters try to dismiss as non-existent is being pushed by one of the very supporters themselves? It's one of those things referred to as a "smoking gun" piece of evidence - I think it's rather obvious why someone would keep it.
Meanwhile the dungeon bosses are still difficult enough to where if you're a dps or healer you're not able to survive getting hit by 2 AoEs at once without mitigation, hell, 4th dungeon 3rd boss literally one shot me for failing another mechanic after I got 2 vuln stacks.
Mind you, I'm not asking for a nerf to the boss damage, but jesus, why do tanks get baby mode mechanics while everyone else has to actually respect them? Doubly so because if the healer dies they can just solo the boss in its entirety (Unless you're DRK/maybe GNB)

ROFL. This isn't a trial or a piece of litigation, it's a very circular conversation about nothing. If you think that is a "smoking gun" in this thread, well, I'll keep my thoughts to myself as they are impolite.Perhaps because it was revealing that a key argument the "strike" supporters try to dismiss as non-existent is being pushed by one of the very supporters themselves? I'm genuinely fascinated to see how many other ex-healers (and specifically ex-ASTs) switched to DNC. I suspect it's a popular job for a lot of us, because its proc-heavy kit and its emphasis on buffing/support provide the exact sort of reactive and support-oriented play that drew most of us to the healer role in the first place.I mained Astrologian for the two years I've been around but I also shelved it for Dawntrail. I tested it out and I hate the changes as much as I thought I would. I liked the semi-random gameplay and the high APM. I just fully switched to Dancer because it's the closest thing with the general feel to me.
The entire point of a trinity-based MMO is that every role has a different responsibility. If you want a non-trinity MMO where any class can do anything, Guild Wars 2 already exists.
Also, that is just one of many design decisions we have argued against.
These aren't the same argument, because they're answering different questions.Your remaining linchpin rebuttal point of "just do trusts" is ironic because pro-strikers in this thread also decry that Yoshi-P and forum users allegedly respond to pro-strikers' complaints with "just do ultimate." You are responding to my point with the "just do X" logic.
The "go play Ultimate" argument is given in response to the question, "What can be done to make healing more engaging?" The reason this is not a valid argument, is that it's not reasonable for a role to be boring in the great majority of the game's content.
The "go do Trusts" argument is given in response to the question, "What can healers do if they're afraid other people will harass them for poor performance?" This is a valid argument, because progressing the MSQ without needing to interact with other players is precisely what Trusts were designed for. Your stated concern in your posts was for healers progressing the MSQ without being yelled at. Trusts allow them to progress the MSQ without being yelled at.
In the latter case, a solution to your problem already exists in-game, while in the former case, it does not (as attested by the number of players who have posted their Ultimate logs showing that they are just as boring to heal as more casual content).
Says the person complaining about people complaining about video games. Truly, the toppest of keks.
I do loves me some Appeal To Worse Problems Fallacy, though. "Sure your dad beats you every night, but there are starving kids in Africa who have it worse, so your problem doesn't matter."
"Once upon a time, you were the based healer, who could carry any tank through the largest of pulls! Now you're just here because the Duty Finder said you have to be." - Lucy Pyre
Genuinely when I play tank I just ignore the mechanics in casual contentMeanwhile the dungeon bosses are still difficult enough to where if you're a dps or healer you're not able to survive getting hit by 2 AoEs at once without mitigation, hell, 4th dungeon 3rd boss literally one shot me for failing another mechanic after I got 2 vuln stacks.

They can’t hurt me so why should I care
It’s so stupid how little damage tanks take from mechanics in this game especially considering the things that should hurt them (autos and Tb’s) also barely do any damage
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
