You're actually à quitter when you abandon your group in à group content. Your previous message is full of lies : there are à lot of fights where the healer dying results in dps' death.I had one example last time : levelling mch, so not à lot of survival tools. Healer died pretty quickly ; the other dps as well. I died because I hadn't enough self heals, not because of à mistake. The tank soloed the fight. Because they played well ? No. They were atrocious actually, but warrior is so op that they stayed alive. So we watched, during long minutes.
They wasted our time, because if we had reset the fight and explain the mec it would have been quicker. And people don't learn anything when they are watching you. If you can tank à stack solo, they won't understand the necessity to group to survive it. They will just see that tanks are OP, or assume the player is good (which can be untrue).
This is a MMO. If you want solo fights, go play a single player game.If I can solo the fight, it's my right to do so. Why should people who failed the mechanics, potentially multiple times, get to forcefully reset the fight and waste my time?
For example, if a party wipes 3 times in a row, and I just decide to solo the fight on the third time, maybe it's for the better since they might never get through the fight otherwise. It also allows them to sit and watch someone do the mechanics flawlessly for ages which has the effect of teaching them the mechanics.
Not always. Sometimes people need to do things to learn best. I've certainly helped bring a fight home as one of the last alive before but if the boss was in any way healthy, myself and others asked first. You're right that people are usually impressed and cheering the rest of us on, but it's important to make sure they're okay with just lying there while we bring things home for them.
It has nothing to do with being a quitter and everything to do with this being a team focused game, like so many here on these forums like to remind everyone. We're all in the instance together and supposed to be working together.
But they have the right to waste the time of those who stood alive the whole fight? Is it fair to push Players who could make the Boss Fight, to wipe just that those who failed can fight again and maybe fail again? This is a horrible take, Jeeq. I normally agree with you on a lot of things but not this. New people do exist and it's not their fault they don't instantly know the mechanics for a fight they've never seen. If the team doesn't want a carry, it's not your right to force that on them. You are wasting their time not allowing them to learn and making them lie on the floor just for being new. It should always be a party agreement thing and never something one or two arrogant jerks force on the rest of the party.
Someone call the Forum Police! Because I wrote passive aggressively that DT looks not good. Oh how right I was!
Three types of players die routinely or often.
1. New players
2. Bad players
3. Lazy players.
There is a very easy way they could do this. Stick a hard-enrage mechanic that fires up when all the healers are KO'd and half the party is down. 15 seconds after the last healer goes down, the monster gets an "enrage" buff that multiplies their damage output every cast. Maybe it will only fire up if the boss has more than 5% health left, maybe it will only fire up if the boss has more than 10%.
Like, I remember the first "enrage" mechanic that I saw that failed. Ifrit, I could out-heal the enrage mechanic and it just looped without being able to do any further damage, I had to actually exit the instance because it couldn't do enough damage to end the fight.
