    new option: vote wipe

In many games you are given the option to restart when messing up or if you are stuck and know you are about to die and have to restart anyways. Restarting is a very fast option to not waste time. In ffxiv, this is not an option. I have been in situations where the boss is just standing there, everyone else is dead, and no way to finish myself off to save time.
Vote wipe would work like this: One person is alive. They cannot die. Or maybe they refuse to die and their kit lacks any resources to revive people and/or bring the fight back to a managable level. There may be other aplicable situations.
Vote wipe would work like other party voting systems such as vote abandon and vote kick. Except unlike vote kick vote wipe can be done mid-battle.

I'm surprised this game lacks this feature.

Most boss arenas where it matters have a death wall or cliff you can use to reset the fight quickly.

Assuming the last player alive does that. Some will try to solo the whole fight.

It wouldn't need such a feature if the trinity was intact.

I would rather be in the fight instead of watching someone else play the game

If I can solo the fight, it's my right to do so. Why should people who failed the mechanics, potentially multiple times, get to forcefully reset the fight and waste my time?

For example, if a party wipes 3 times in a row, and I just decide to solo the fight on the third time, maybe it's for the better since they might never get through the fight otherwise. It also allows them to sit and watch someone do the mechanics flawlessly for ages which has the effect of teaching them the mechanics.

This is a horrible take, Jeeq. I normally agree with you on a lot of things but not this. New people do exist and it's not their fault they don't instantly know the mechanics for a fight they've never seen. If the team doesn't want a carry, it's not your right to force that on them. You are wasting their time not allowing them to learn and making them lie on the floor just for being new. It should always be a party agreement thing and never something one or two arrogant jerks force on the rest of the party.

How often have you felt like other players will continue to fail even when you explained the fight to them? I think it should still be an option even if you run into parties that die repeatedly to mechanics. Those situations should not be a reason vote wipe shouldn't exist.
In my experience, even though I find myself in parties full of players who make the same mistakes repeatedly, usually explaining the fight to them helps. If nothing else, it breaks up the monotony. I LIVE for PvE chaos.

I actually genuinely feel like they learn by watching me in such a situation. They are usually pretty impressed by it as well.

I'm not a quitter, so it's on SE to make healers and DPS actually required for survival then.
