It wouldn't be a bad idea, like the battle rez in RIFT with its 5 min cd (even on healers btw...).I just remembered something..
Why can't we use Phoenix Down's while in combat?
It can still be a [Unique] item, so can only carry 1 at a time.
But it might've been useful in this situation.
Accidents happen, they always can.
But so if a Healer accidently dies first due to whatever reason. Then at least a DPS could use the item to get the healer back up again.
It still has a "cast timer" to use and it's limited so it's not like they can ress multiple times during a fight.
But it could help if a Healer dies in a situation where there are no one else around who can revive someone.
Healer? What do you even need one for?
Why didn't they remove all of tanks dps kit during Shadowbringers? They only need one single target attack and one aoe attack, their job is only to tank after all. If they complain, just tell them to unsub. That'll show them!
RIP Scourge and Fracture.
Some of the earliest victims of the dev's crusade against DoTs.

It would be a 'Last resort' kinda thing, when there's no one else around who might be able to.Counter intuitive by design - it would only further dilute the role of a healer or a job that brings the unique ability to raise comrades in combat when the are downed. Furthermore it trivializes content - boss kills 2/3 members of the raid/party its okay we will just stack downs and rotate people to raise the dead. Why bring a healer or a RDM or a SMN? Just stack DPS and tanks = profit.
Besides, if people run endgame content I highly expect that people rather want a RDM / SMN to act as an emergency healer just incase.
Less time to run up to said body and use an item.
I get the Counter intuitive how it "takes away" yet another thing from the healer toolkit and gives it to others.
Henche why I was specific with listing that it'd still be a unique item, limited to 1 per inventory.
But to make it even more selective of an item, maybe after usage it adds a debuff in style with "This person can't get ressed with another Phoenix Down for 5 minutes.", perhaps.
But it probably just be seen used in Duties with random people, so who knows if there'll be a RDM / SMN or someone who could emergency ress a Healer if needed be.
I just remember the Phoenix Down item after some time, thinking of what people had said.
And during that specific comments scenario, maybe a Phoenix Down would've been a better option than to lie down 15-20 minutes not doing anything at all.

I’ve haven’t posted in several days due to being on vacation. What the heck is going on here?
Anyways, with DT on the way in a few weeks, I hope to see some nerfs to Tank sustain / mitigation, DPS included. This is just me forming my opinion after watching Zepla’s video, but that’s my gut feeling right now.
I don’t want tank sustain removed from the game. I’m fine with it so long as it doesn’t impede the healer role, like WAR’s bloodwhetting. SE can either tone down the healing potencies of those sustain abilities or increase the cooldown so the tanks won’t have access to them so soon after use.
Again, these are just nerfs to the job. Nerfs are not that big of a deal. You can adapt / play around nerfs.
300+ pages and there's still the discussion if healing/sustain for something like a WAR is overtuned when this exists :

A trinity system game has a single tank clear content designed for 8 people in the latest expansion. The balance across the board is out of whack and this speaks for itself. Healers are tip of the iceberg.

Anticipating some next posts :I’ve haven’t posted in several days due to being on vacation. What the heck is going on here?

Well in casual content there are no death walls so tanks other than GNB cannot even easily suicide themselves in such scenariosI mean, how can I not feel alienated when I'm stuck in a dungeon for 15-20min, dead on the floor, looking at a tank, in green leveling stuff of 4 lvl under the boss's one btw, soloing more than 80% of a dungeon boss? All of this, while I cannot even leave this hell because you cannot leave an instance while in battle state.![]()

Do we not see this as a massive problem
How you gonna tell me that tanks are not overtuned when they struggle to even try to actively die in casual content
(Not you the proverbial you)
